Would the grammo look better if you change the headset to one of those semi conical record headset? Just a thought.
-
• #253
possibly, but I'm giving up on quill to ahead adapters permanently. I've tried 3 different brands on 2 different bikes and all 3 have slipped at some point.

You too heavy bro ;)

Should I just use it for polo?
-
• #256
That was my first thought, and couldn't find another on Google..Seems to be though..
Looks very similar construction to an ITM stem. I had an ITM Krystal for a while and the weld finish was equal to a Grammo just without the kudos .. very light too for a quill stem.

Yeah I can see the similarity... but this one is a much more matte finish.. and has a different steerer clamp arrangement..

Will take it for a ride tomorrow and take some nicer pictures - 1st impressions though is that it is super stiff, fits really well and I have a big smile.

Good job Apollo, wasn't overly keen on the frame at first but it looks very good. Just need some road pedals now :-)

Pure class. Great job

Thanks guys - JB, need to get road shoes for that to happen... maybe soon :)
Slightly better pics for now:

Super job there, only thing I would change personally would be the saddle. The gold rails don't tie in to me. Everything else is spot on.
-
• #267
+1 on the saddle, rest is bosh!
-
• #268
thanks guys... might replace it with a Ti railed Rolls at a later date...For now, I finished tweaking the gears etc and can say that it's finished

The most laser-level cockpit I ever done seen.
Beautiful bicycle, well done. -

Thanks Mr B, it did take a bit of standing back and checking!
So happy I didn't go with this setup: http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2847/10962142375_5824c71e48_c.jpg
Yesterday's (short) ride round Alexandra Palace and Muswell Hill was really comfy!

I think you've found the perfect road bike, a modern steel always feel great to ride, especially a huge size that no longer flex like a noodle every time you want to set off slowly.

Man am I late to the party, lovely lovely build!
The bike and bars are looking great, nothing like Somec lust.
