Definitely worth stiffening it up.
Did some cycle touring southern Italy on a foldable last year. Very surprised that the old gas pipes didn't break but the flex made for some sketchy descents.
Excited to see the finished product.

Yeah I'm surprised I never snapped that Puch picnic when I had it, it flexed something rotten!
It's the paint on klunker you're asking about yeah? It was a yellow spraypaint as the base then pretty much just suspended the frame from the headtube and poured a little pot of turquoise paint over it, Painters Touchor something like that from B&Q. Same stuff as the orange I used to do the splatter paint on the lugged road fixed frame.

Think that’s enough tubes for now.

Excellent! Wtf are you going to do about fork/steerer/bars? Or just get used to a very aero riding position?

If you want more tubes/donor frames/whatever - you're welcome to my GT F&F
I'm happy to foot the bill for shipping too if you fancy it.
(It's got a cracked chainstay )
it would bring me great joy to see it repurposed -

PhilDAS got it in one. BMX bars should get the grips up right about where they want to be.
I may also make a custom bar at some point, I have some 22.2mm tubing left over from making the rack for the cycletruck.

I'd be well up for making something out of that.
And don't be daft, I'd be happy to cover the cost of shipping.

Wicked, I'll strip it down when I have a chance and then I'll drop you a PM to arrange.

Oh and I got started on the fork today too.
Not sure whether to go biplane with some plate material or segmented with tubing.
Probably segmented.
The donor fork was a Kona Jump fork that came with my Humuhumu. It did have much tyre clearance due to the shape of the legs and I tried stick welding a disc tab to it ages ago and cocked it up so took the angle grinder to them today.

Got the fork brazed up today.
Super Ted suggested using my frame jig as a fork jig and it definitely made things a lot easier. All I had to do with drill out a bit of aluminium round bar so it could go on the bb post and allow me to mount a stem to it.
I’ll remake the spacer once I can goto my dad’s and use his lathe but for tacking up it’s fine.

Rad! Please leave the tops open...

As handy as that'd be if I ever find myself needing to transport brazing rods, I'm thinking the fork legs filling with water and likelyhood of taking a core sample from my own body probably outweighs that!

This is ace, and as usual is full of character. What’s the plan for the paint?

(were you not looking to try out zwift btw? gav was asking about ANT+ dongles on fb and I told him I had one you could have but then didn't hear anything after that... sorry to go o/t)

Hey, yeah Gav got me one from a guy in the wheelers I think. Did a bit of Zwift but didn’t really get on with it, prefer just watching a POV vid of someone riding up Stelvio or something like that. I should really offer it back out.

It does barspins.
Finish looks really good. I prefer paint anyway. Mind sharing how you did it?
