• Dan is from the school kids polo. (Might not be a great idea to ask the guys from the school scheme to handle drills ;) ). I'd be up to help on weekend

  • I'm down to help on Sunday

  • Do we have to consider making it more modular so we can take it all down when we need to?

Or (preferably) can we ask HH about anchoring it in the ground? That's probably the only solution (other than just rebuilding it after every storm)?

I'm in for helping on The weekend too.

  • Ok thanks for letting me know io. Please leave it in that case Dan. I had a look. It looks worse than it is but there is no point touching it until the wind dies down. We will need a whole bunch of hands and we can lift it back in place. A few screws and replacing two of the corner angle braces. holding the nets up. As i have said before with wind like this the court is very susceptible to damage. We just have to suck it up unless we get funding. I am going to cut vents in the walls. I am waiting for my mate to get back from hols with his circular saw. That will help, but frankly the wind down there was nuts today and you can see it has been swirling because the court has blown over toward the inside which it usually does not. At least the awesome job Luca and i did on the goal / nets is still up ;)
    I'll put images up later.

  • So how many people are avilible tomorrow for a quick lift up?

    1.B

  • Van allen?

  • Im in B let me know the time

  • Sorry I can't do tomorrow, will @IdealStandard be there anyway?

  • That's a shame. I will be there regardless as I have no way of letting everyone know ahead of time and I need to provide details for the small schools tournament we have planned on the 9th.

I don't have a drill I can take tomorrow and agree that we'll need to wait for the wind to die down.

  • But B, yes I'm up for a lift up. I'll be there at 4, what time you thinking?

  • Im free tomorrow. Let me know

  • I can pop down for about 45 mins any time that's lunch ish

  • I am free in the afternoon to pop by and I'm sure that elliot will be up for helping

  • Lets meet at 4 then guys!

  • See you there

  • On my way

  • Was hoping to make it down but the inefficiencies of banks got the better of me.

Will be heading to newt after post office if any of you are rolling there afterwards?

  • Nice one, Phil for breaking form work and coming down, likewise Elliot and Charlie. Thanks timmy too too. So i was asking the kids if they could write some testimonials for a funding application. Anyone else that has done kids polo would be great to do this also. B

  • I'll write one up for you if you want - just tell me vaguely what it should refer to and I'll happily do it (will also ask the other 'kids' if you need a couple)

  • Nice one guys x

  • O yes o yes

  • Thanks @Dan123

I guess it would be really nice to hear about how the sessions are exciting, the court that we built such a great place to learn bike skills, an alternative to the usual curriculum of sports on offer and how other kids find it an infectious sport that hones safety on bikes, your coordination etc ... in your own words, tell a potential funder why bike polo is so good for people and how it would benefit from a less temporary court. Something that is more like a Multi Use Games Area and one where you can just play on it without having to build it each time.
