I’m looking at Quarq DZero/SRAM Red BB30 power meter. My frame has a BSA 68mm bottom bracket. Are these compatible and what BB would I need?
-

I think this is what you need:

Anyone able to help with question about BB5/BB7s?
I've got a couple of bikes set up with BB7s and Shimano rotors - I recently read somewhere BB5/BB7 need a deeper rotor than what Shimanos come with, and to only use them with Avid rotors.
Is there any truth to this statement? If so, is there anywhere I could get a correctly sized centerlock rotors so I don't have to shell out for adapters as well as rotors (the Avid G2/G3 only come in 6 bolt)?
Avid's website is particularly not helpful.

What do your current rotors look like in regards to wear? If the brake track is worn where it should be then all good.
-
• #1010
The wear does extend down the arms past the rotors by a couple of mm.
This partially backs up the theory, but I can't find anything definitive.

Just make sure the spindle length of the cranks is long enough. A "true" BB30 crank set has a shorter spindle as the bearings are pressed into the frame. Your BSA BB has outboard bearings so the spindle needs to be long enough to accommodate for this.

Actually, that’s clearly a mountain bike crank of some sort. Guess I need to ask the seller to measure the spindle length
-
• #1014
That's probably the best idea.
I think Hope also make a BSA BB for 30mm cranks. They could probably help you figure out if the spindle is long enough.

Whats the go to 11 speed chain that people are using now ? Broke my kmc x11 on the way home.
Bikes are so wierd without a chain !
-
• #1016
Is there an unworn bit around the edge, if not I wouldn't worry.

SLX 12 speed chain works a treat on an 11 speed shimano drive train

Dura Ace is my default chain these days. Boring, but reliable and works well.

I’ve ran bb5/7s with all sorts of rotors including centrelock Shimano and haven’t noticed any effect on brake performance.
I’d say wear down the arms a bit is better than adapter faff anyway.

Was it a genuine KMC? I snapped one the other week and it turned out to be a fake...

I'm a big fan of the PYC SP1101 chains. lighter than DA but £32

Where are folks getting all these snapping chains? Mate of mine snapped two chains in as many months, and this last one landed him in hospital with several months rehab ahead of him. The ambulance people didn’t keep the chain.

eBay probably. Loads of fake Shimano stuff on there.

Yes out of the box . Fresh

My fake one was boxed too. I could only tell by the bridge: https://www.kmcchain.eu/Fake_chains_The_price_of_succes
Yours may have been real, but I have never had a problem with KMC's range of 1,9, 10 or 11 speed chains in over 15 years of using them exclusively
If the axle hole is 2mm off centre it means there’s 2mm less material on one side so it’ll be much weaker.
Depends which bits are centred and which bits aren’t.
