yeah Omniums for now. But certainly there will be many changes for it once it is built up. But damn, now you got me checking out prices on ebay (i am so weak)

About time i had an update. Well the box arrived and was very well packed. It even survived the Chinese postal service.
I especially asked for the headtube to be double wrapped as many frames delivered here had this area pushed in during delivery :( (a painful sight when you open the box)
When all taken out it was spotless and better than expected. I know the gold is a little Marmite for some but for me i love it :)
Now to finally get started to piecing it together and seeing what parts to change during the build.

Is that a Nag in the background?

yeah, one of my other ladies :)

Well as soon as it was opened. I couldn't stop myself but to throw the parts i had on her to see how she sat.
So far, what i have changed from before is I went from my Sugino Zen to a Factory 5 lattice Chain ring (48t in black) for now and a new 3t Arx II stem (in stealth black). I also de-stickered the wheels as it was a little too loud for this build.
Now its sitting on the ground I am thinking rather than the riser bars i had on previously, it will be better to go for drops this time around.
Any suggestions?

Ah, that Nag is one of my favourite bikes, pretty sure I posted it in pron a while back.
What do you think of the lattice ring? I like F5 stuff, but to me it's a little busy, have gone for a 44rn instead...
Please do me a favour and get some black electrical tape on that front brake surface...

Ah thanks. glad you liked it.Yeah been riding her daily as a commuter through winter (oh the shame) :(
Agreed the silver braking surface annoys the hell out of me. I never tried the electrical tape before so will give it a go and see what the results are like.
The lattice ring seems great quality. The machining is spot on. Sure the sugino has more even black anodizing but i love the look with the simple lines of the omnium. Just seems to fit the frame more. Will see how it holds up over time but they put it through a lot of testing anyway before putting it up for sale.

Well I put a temp set of drops on there as i am still waiting for the new ones to arrive. But at least she is rolling now and can get with the daily commute on her.
Amazed how light it turned out and how quick it is to accelerate.
Next up is the bars and blacking out that front wheel for now.

such a beautiful frame, but i don't like the build-up.
with the paint and lining i would expect something more fancy instead of a mix of hipster parts -

No worries.. sure its not for everyone but from the start, I set out to use all the parts from my previous bike and for now it will be my commuting bike and ridden daily.
In time i will change out the parts to something more in line with the frame, But for now its how it rides.

amazing what a difference the black brake track makes.
Do you have a front ellipse?

matching ellipse front wheel and a black crank would help.
it it were my frame, i would go for silver parts, low flange hubs+rims, dura ace crank, things like that

I wish I had realised this when I was running twin heds, would have been a massive imrovement... (shame about the sticker vom too....)
I like your build, but would prefer black 75s and maybe Zipp gloss black stem and post?

ok final update on this for a while.
Was looking for a new set of wheels to replace the S80 but ended up changing a few other things at the same time.
On the list this time is HED Belgium C2 Rims laced to Victoire Supersprint hubs.
Bars were changed to Zipp Vulka V2 bars. Seat was changed with my roadie to the Fizik Kurve Bull. and lastly needed a new set of pedals so went for XT ones.
All in all i am loving the bike at the moment. Such a rapid ride. So cant wait for the summer months to come and enjoy it to the most.

Just curious, how long did you wait between ordering the frame and getting your first update on how the frame was coming along?
Wonderful bike build, hope it is treating you well!

Was really quick. They were always in touch with the progress and whatever information they needed from me..
I had a slight problem with delivery company but apart from that the whole process took about 9 weeks

Lovely, but you should level the bars a little bit!

That's weird, I've had no reply from them for a good month now. Getting a little worried, tried contacting them a couple of times, put down half the money as well.

got enough spokes on the Belgians?!
All Italian or unsubed
Edit: Just seen the Omniums on the build list, imagine these will look very nice as well. I bought some record cranks last year and had a hankering for one of these frames to match them hence my previous comment.
