Museum piece for sure.
This.
Can someone who knows him ask him to consider loaning it to a museum / collection.
e.g. Doug Pinkerton has loads of bikes around the Manchester Velodrome, Bob might find room for Ian's. Or Steve B. at Cov transport museum might have a spot for it.
Heartbreaking to see it sold for the reason he has given, and obv reluctance.

History aside, amazing frame and paint scheme to compliment. The aero tubes paired with the internal routing. Just lovely.
I actually came to see which tubes they were but on closer inspection to the original pictures in the magazine article.. Ishiwata 019 Aero. -

I don't know about anyone else but I'd be willing to donate some funds for the forum to purchase this bike off Ian to donate to a museum of their choice.
How would one go about generating the support for such a thing?

the comments below the ebay sale seem to show other people doing likewise

Somebody buy it!!! He sold his Obree position frmae last month went for a miserable £200. In any other country in Europe he'd have streets named after him!

Yeah saw those comments too, I'll be in touch with Mr Cammish later today to discuss.
Do you think any of the mods would be willing to start up a donation thread?

If anyone is proposing to set up any sort of 'fund' I think you'll have to act quick because once an offer is submitted (regardless of how big or small it is) I think Mr Cammish will be bound to leave it in the auction ... or risk getting his wrists severely slapped by Ebay.
Good idea though ;-) -

It would appear that a 'satisfactory' conclusion has been reached.

No 'fee' mentioned but it looks like it's going to a good home where we can go to pay our respects!
