That microcosm thread might as well be written in Sanskrit as far as I'm concerned.

Just to be clear; I can't read Sanskrit.

Velocio saying he is quite good a computer geekery is like me saying that I am quite good at eating pies and drinking too much.
I know which is the better life skill.
-
• #888
It's computer geekery that leads to drinking too much that then leads to needing to eat all the pies

No, your bad was using a spreadsheet to hold what should be rights be a database.
Spreadsheets are for visual calculation of tabular data. Using lookups = doing it wrong.
< also a computer whizz, but in a different context to VB.

It should probably be pointed out that the half of this forum who aren't graphic designers work in IT.

Don't you think that at less than 2000 rows of data he should consider Sharepoint or would you go straight to some kind of SQLserver backend?
#words wot I have heard the geeks use
Depends what traffic he's expecting but he's probably not going to apply MapReduce to it, and he may not be enough of a sadist for SharePoint.

Hi All are the compass beers still done reasonably regularly?
They are.
Yes, Norths is particularly lively, the others are a bit wank owing to being a bit far for me to ride home from. Watch out for wests as it is full of cunts, friendly cunts but cunts all the same.
Best advice is to turn up and look for the scruffiest most unkempt looking cyclists in the pub, that'll be LFGSS.
Norths is very good. Nice boozer, as long as you don't die cycling up hill you should be ok.
Souths has a burger which can only be described as a combination of sawdust and dirt. The last time I consumed it, I thought I'd eaten a knotted rope. It cleaned me out.
At one point East beers wasn't technically in east London. I didn't bother with it - wall to wall tossers.
West - the best selection of food and pubs on the planet. Obviously.I second the motion! (as modelled by TS)
Fuck me, Joe's let himself go.
