Going back to allowing children to join, if you do then I imagine it opens up a big CRB check shaped can of worms. Which is often more hassle than it's worth. My badminton club doesn't allow children for that reason.
It might be worth checking whether 16+ counts as working with children. Because if it does then potentially any volunteer for any event allowing children would have to be CRB checked specifically for LFGSS CC.

Cool cool, I totally get the "get more people into any and all aspects of cycling" mentality, and I'm all for it. Just don't want to see anyone organising "club event" (anyone using the club name to gain access to facilities like the velodrome) to get in trouble and wanted to make sure you were aware.I think it's a great idea. I'd put my name down for a jersey if I ever did any rides over 5 miles!

Unfortunately you'd still have to have another CRB check even if you were (for example) a teacher. The checks are organisation specific, and everyone who will be working (including temporary staff, volunteers, etc) with children would need to have the check done. -

I was wondering about this - I have a full CRB check for work and it'd be so much easier if it could be transferred elsewhere. Ho hum.

I've been asked to pick where LFGSS is located, a pin on a map... I've dropped the in central London, in the EC1A post-code right in the middle of London.
That puts us in the East region.
This is basically irrelevant, but if we ever acquired ambition and stopped drinking as much, apparently this is where the region where the club standing will be listed.
Spiritually it seems right for a fixed wheel bicycle forum to be based in the East. Plus Easts is the best drinks ;)

Well we may be forced to not use a dark jersey.
As in, the BC lady already mentioned a lot of clubs have gone for black strips this past couple of years and that we might be asked to consider another base colour.
I pointed out ours is a very dark grey pattern. Though I'm not sure she is buying that.
