  • Shit stirrer is shit stirring.

  • That's looking great!

The yellow is much nicer before it's been instagrammed :-)

  • snap!

    Lovely build..

If you notice we have similar sized crowns, and mine has a drilling guide, so you're definitely OK if you go ahead with it.

  • Hey! Just seen this thread. Firstly, welcome to the Panasonic Owners Club. You are now officially awesome, and have to deal with people saying "why have you stuck a Panasonic sticker on your bike?". But you get to laugh at Jake for selling his, so that's cool.

Secondly, thank FUCK you didn't drill the fork. I've had this issue, and you'll never find a brake that'll fit. The clamp on works fine I've found.

May you love riding it forever. I've had mine now for six years and it's still amazing to ride. If I haven't been riding it for a while - say for bad weather - and I get on it I can't help myself, straight off and a hundred miles an hour, weaving through traffic. Claira always has a go at me too for riding like a dickhead when this happens, whilst I have a shit eating grin on my face.

  • Quick Jess, sell it before you become a smug whopper like Ben!
Tbf, his is a pretty great example of a bike built to be ridden, not fawned over like most njs frame builds.

  • Me being smug has very little to do with my Panasonic.

  • Great unattractive photo there, thanks Apollo

  • Looks great. At hearing the rumour of a carbon track beast I was afraid this had seen it's last lap.

  • Great unattractive photo there, thanks Apollo

what you talking about. look super pro.

  • Tighten the rear

  • Don't be personal.

  • lol

  • Sorry for being cheeky

  • Lol, I thought you were talking about the rear wheel? Now I'm not so sure. :)

  • I have to keep the chain long enough to fit both my track sprocket (15) and road riding sprocket (19), so when it's on track gear it's right at the end of the dropouts, but tight when it's on the road gearing.

  • My other rear is tight all the time.

  • when are you building the PX up?

  • Once I've sold my Kondor frame and some other bits and can afford a tasty wheelset. The Goldtec hub I won yesterday will come in handy either to use for the rear or to sell to buy something else.

  • you might have some chainline probs with it. Pretty sure those hubs are a bit awkward. Might be best to sell and get something else.

  • Scoot, you were so impressive on the track yesterday and very stylish with it :)

  • Aww, thanks MM! I still need to work on my race tactics (2nd out in the Devil, ugh) but it was loads of fun!

^^ Yeah that's what sumo and others have said. I probably will sell it, I just liked the idea of having a prize as part of my new bike.

  • You might be all right with the Goldtec, I think it's just the older hubs that have a 45mm chainline. Unless you're constantly swapping out wheels it doesn't make a huge difference anyway, just set it up with the right size bottom bracket and forget about it.

  • It's probably a later model meaning it's a 44mm chainline. Which isn't really a problem and there are couple of ways around it. The easy solution is a longer spindle length on your bb if you have a square taper bottom bracket.

What I've done with my Omniums though, is add a 1mm spacer under each chainring bolt between the spider and chainring. The omnium and original chainring are quite beefy so if you upgrade the chainring to something better that is available in sizes other than 48t (you should definitely do this) then the 1mm spacer fix is easy and looks clean whilst straightening out any chainline 'problems'.
