How long do you think you'll take at the first feed stop? Im trying to work out when you'll go past Houslow West tube stn. I reckon 0900-0930? I don't want to miss you, but equally I'd rather not stand about like a clammy, lycra-clad chicken-carcass (a genuinely accurate description of my physique).

Is it just me or is the route in the first post not showing? I would like it for my garmin...

Sidcup Place pub has agreed to open at 7.15am to prepare us for our 7.30am depart.

The pub is offering hot baps filled with either fried egg, sausage or bacon @ £1.99 each. Costa tea @ £1.79 each. Costa coffee @ £2.50 each.

Please add to this list so I can book numbers. I will order and pay for a few extra anyway to cater for late arrivals who can grab something before the off. We will be burning around 7500 calories on the day, so something to start won't go amiss.

Your guess is probably as good as anyone else's. If you have an android phone, install the gps tracker and add me (see first post) so that you can see how we're doing.

I'd aim to get there a bit before us and then cycle backwards along the route to meet us rather than standing about getting cold, but that's just me.

I must bail. I am truly gutted. Some unavoidable family problems, and my entire weekend is a write off. I was looking forward to this ride even whilst still living in Kenya so I am weeping into my smartphone. Best of luck for the ride, you brave fools.

Tell you what Earthloop, I'll get there at about 9am (presuming you dont cover the first 45k + feed stop in under 1.5hrs). Then I can just sit in a greasy spoon cafe in Houslow til you turn up. Get the coffees in etc... Ive not got an Android, my ancient Nokia's still going strong, and to be honest I was hoping to grab a wheel for the whole ride rather than navigate for myself - as I dont have a GPS system.

I've done the carb loading, I haven't got drunk, I've even laid off the fags a bit! Im psyched for this!
