OK, decided on Sugino cranks & Tange LN-7922 BB (I like the fit and forget). Thanks so much Chak and sirbikealotdonor! These two was the hardest for me...
This now leaves me with only a wheelset to sort out. Well, just the spokes/nibs, as I've decided on Archetype.
And figure out the stem/bullhorn combo. Might go with Fyxation pursuit and stem.

I wanted Nitto from beggining, they have nice straight bullhorns, with a drop, pursuit etc., but I have a hard time finding a suitable black stem for them (26mm)? Thomson Elite is very nice, but 31.8...

this is all subjective at this point, a lot of it's personal preference once we told you no to the brooks :)
you could get a nitto stem here, to match the bars: http://www.alexscycle.com/stems/fixed-non-njs-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13-14-15/
and get a nitto seatpost for the finishing kit unless you've really got your heart set on the paul components one

Not sure how I missed Nitto black stems on Kinoko site previously, thought they only stocked quills. Nitto UI-85BX stem it is.

Well, if you read this thread top to bottom, you can see I have a hard time landing on something cheap.
I am very afraid to draw a line after the list and calculate the total. And that's even without the shipping/customs. I don't even want to know, I will be buying a few parts each month, until I'm done (hoping by the summer I will have this built). The frameset should be here by the end of next month.
But it will be one tough mfcker and I should be satisfied from the start. If I went with something cheap or a compromise it would bug me all the time and I would always look for something to change.

Nitto S65 was in fact the first choice. But then I saw Pauls :) Might not be a difference anyway, as the seatpost head is basically not visible. But Paul do have a small setback, which might come in handy for more flexibility.

Well, I'm 190 cm with 34" inseam, everybody suggested size 58/59 for me. I mailed FBM guys and they said 56 Sword should be perfectly fine.
Believe me, what I'm (not) driving now (my brothers old Merida MB, too small for me, with Maxxis ultra wide tires, it's impossible!), this should be a god-send. Trouble is, I'm in small town in Croatia, and we have no choice here. Only the most common brands with their MB lines.
With seatpost/saddle, headset/spacers and bar adjustments, this Sword should be more than fine for me. I certainly hope so, that is.

Thanks for asking! It was (still is) a crazy ride. Can't believe how many iterations I went through, but it is understandable given I was a complete novice when I started. I also had to order everything online as there is nothing here where I live. Shipping the frameset from USA to a small town in Europe was a PITA :)
I am very close to completion now, ETA is three more months as I have just a few more parts to source, but they are expensive.
Must say I never hoped to build something like this. In the end, this is going to be a pretty high-end build. I'll be sure to post some photos once finished as I think it would all come together magnificently.

In the future, I am planning to do a budget fixie build based on Affinity Metropolitan frameset and a premium Cycles d'Autremont 27.5 Singlespeed Hardtail build. But those are just plans, I think this Sword, once completed, will be my daily and only ride till the end :)

Getting closer. Archetype rims arrived, as well as Profile Racing hubs. The rims are spot on, however, I will probably keep the hubs for another, cheaper build or as a backup. I've found my perfect hubs in White Industries track hubs with splined cogs and will probably order those. They are 100% old school, high flange, with nice bronze axle nuts. Also, they are one-sided only (rear) with cut slots in flanges.
The splined cogs, although proprietary, are a really good idea, I hate busting threads: http://www.whiteind.com/fixed-gear.html
Also decided on Wheelsmith spokes instead of DT Swiss. I will also put Continental GatorSkins because they are easier to come by.
The bike could almost be finished by the end of next month, but the hubs are a set back. My prediction is September.

Hello Guys, loving the forum. Sorry if I've annoyed anyone with my newbie posts. I found it hard to contribute my first 3 comments when I've got no idea what im doing. I'm big into my Mountain Biking and i am an avid user of the site MTBE and Pinkbike so if you're on there aswell , some of you may know me.
Basically, myself and a mate have decided to build up some FG/SS bikes. I've found myself a local frame set and i am picking it up on Sunday. Its a 1980's Peugeot Carbolite 103. Basic i know, but for £45, i jumped on the offer. It comes with pretty much everything, bar the wheels and sprockets.
Its got some basic detailing in the description and from what the seller has been telling me but im stuck with what to go for in the wheel department. I know it requires:
700c wheelsize
130mm rear dropout , 100mm front dropoutI'm struggling to find any budget wheels second hand or cheap new stuff. I want a flip flop hub so i can choose between Fixed Gear or Single Speed. If someone could point me in the right direction in terms of wheels, or they have something that would work, then please let me know.
I've got a good idea in my head of what i want the bike to look like... At first, i will probably leave the brakes on so i can switch between FG/SS. I'm going to try get it to look classic, with Brown Saddle, Bar Tape and vintage style white wall Tyres.
Yet to decide on gearing either. What do peeps reccomend for a first time rider. I'm big into my Mountain Biking and regard myself as fairly fit, running a 1x10 set up at the moment, with a 34 tooth chainring and 11-36 cassette. However, i've got no idea what would be a good combo on the project bike.
I will upload some pics as soon as i get the bike on Sunday, but if anyone can help me regarding my questions, then it would be greatly appreciated!

hello there have a look through the classified section there are sometimes wheel sets that go for a good price on there, as for technical bits and fixing - use the search tool, there is a wealth of knowledge on here you just have to dig it out sometimes.

since its your first bike of this type, if i were you i would just get some budget secondhand 700c wheels, take the cassette off and put a 16t freewheel on in its place.
just get a 3/32 16t freewheel off ebay theyre under £10.
then just redish the wheel, take the gears off completely and cut the chain down.
only a SS set up but its a good start and gets you going quickly for cheaps

ive got a budget set of wheels for 58 quid on ebay. absolutely bombproof and are flip flop.
regarding the gear ratio, im running 48-17. relatively fast, got some slight inclines and delines on my route to work and i can maintain a good speed, providing the lights are green. strava says max speed of 33mph and an average of about 21mph.
i run an odd number as there are more skid patches, although i dont have foot straps. -

130mm seems a little wide for a rear dropout on a ss bike. so those wheels wont do you any good.

Track wheels, that have flip flop hubs are generally 120mm wide.
I can't find one online, but the only hub I can think of that is 130mm spaced and fixed/free is a Surly Ultra rear hub.
