Yup, buy some dumbbells and do this for a month. Gainz.

Resistance bands and a pull up bar can keep you ticking over for a while too

And push up workouts...

He’s said “ideally a pull up bar, a bench and some dumbbells. The adjustable ones go up to 22.5kg which should be ok. Otherwise some kettlebells- 10,16,20kg pairs would be good”.

Thought he would.
Personally I'm really enjoying having a set of adjustable KBs. My joints are also thanking me. These lockdowns have been amazing on my elbows.

Try a Turkish Getup and a KB Swing as a start. KB Swings are lower back burner of note!
And as functional gets, getting up off the floor is harder than it sounds. And yet when we get older, it might be one of our biggest challenges.

Which is also why burpees are much harder than pushups.

I'm a fan of the the ironmaster products for 2 reasons
- No plastic parts
- The lock mechanism is quick. None of this spin lock bullshit.
Which with any rotational movement unlocks the lock ie curls.

Looks like there's no new stock of anything, it's all second hand, so you need it to be close as many will not post.

Make it interesting with a 20kg weight vest

I'd bet that eBay auction is going to go past the new cost, simply because you can't get them anywhere else.

Yes, but you have to pay attn and wait for the opportunity

Defo!
But if you watch the UK stockiest, they're about to do pre orders for January if you can wait.
They have an covid update page for when they'll do it

I'm thinking about what I can get this week.

You either pay the scalpers premium or you wait for stock.
Or you buy a set of DBs/KBs most likely to cover ALL your needs. I had a pair of 12kg DBs and a 24kg KB until they are available.
Think of it as the Submariner of the weights world. You're not losing money, you're buying for the now factor.

Pick 2 pairs of DBs. One for small muscle groups like bi's and tris. And one for bigger group like chest and back and squats.
Pull up bar. Roller for abs. -

Take your PTs advice if you have the space. Adjustable bench. DBs.

Don’t underestimate sandbags as a tool.
Cheap, easy enough to change weight between sessions (make smaller ‘packages’ to fit inside a larger bag to easily increase/decrease weight) and can really load up on them (120kg+ with some).
Front squats, back squats, overhead and supine pressing, cleans, carries... there’s a lot you can do with them. No tidiness the way you get with a barbell but effective.

I’ve ordered some adjustable dumbbells- now let’s see if they really exist.

You know you could buy all of them off ebay, test them for a week and then resell them for what you bought them for. I'd be curious. I think the powerblock looks the most promising. There is a really cool Norwegian adjustable DB set I can't remember the name of that looks ace...

Also, I don't think it will because its pick up. If you have a car, and don't mind driving to collect it, you can get a deal. Make sure you bring a couple plastic crates and some straps. You still got your sports wagon? It's the weight of a passenger.
I know this is a buyer's forum and I risk a ban suggesting this :) but before buying an entire home gym, ask the PT what they'd do for 4 weeks of maintenance with nothing or minimal kit. Chances are they could probably suggest a routine with e.g. a single kettlebell.
