Oh, so then it won't be any good against Government mind-reading radiation?
-

How do you know about that? Who told you?

'No Quarter' was a bit of a giveaway.

I would just like to state that we are now painting carbon-fiber. Wheels, frames you name it, using the same light-weight durable primer that F1 teams use on their structural parts. This primer will not eat into your epoxy on your carbon so it's safe to use.
We do not have any photographed parts painted, so if you would like your carbon parts painted at a great price, please get in touch.

How much to spray my Hed 3 pink with rainbow sparkles?
-
• #32
Fluorescent?

Duh

That's where it gets expensive. Could do it for £80 with fluorescent paint and spindrift metal flake.

How much for this colour powdercoat - just the frame

If you can find the RAL number, I can let you know.

Teaser...
Got metal flake (yup, the super-shiny sparkly bits) going on early next week, plus gold-leaf and some detailing which I haven't seen done before but I'll be keeping quiet until it's built up!

It's late but I finally got them done. Frame goes in for more detail to the paintwork plus some unique lettering by hand. All will be revealed once built, but for now..
You will notice pitting around the seat-cluster and fork spacing. This is the actual frame, not my paintwork. Internally the frame is spot on, however the surface rust did eat into it quite badly, most would have considered this frame a gonner but I thought different. It started life like this..

Guys if any of you would like work doing, please feel free to PM me so I can keep this thread like a blog.
1000AA, thanks for the kind words!
TM, pm'd you.
Luke, thanks man! Fairly sure your swinnerton needs a fade paintjob..

Nice colour and good work on the frame, but on the forks was it not possible to sand smooth or fill to get rid of the orange peel?
-
• #45
That's not orange peel, it's actual craters in the lug which are surprisingly deep. The only way round it would have been to add more primer, but once you start doing that they would be no definition to the lugs at all.
-
• #46
One thing, why have the forks oppose the frame? Not sure I like that, slightly spoils (for me) an otherwise awesome job.

• #47
Makes me wonder if half black half yellow would work on the Corima....
-
• #48
All will be revealed soon!
Flip paintwork aint easy. It either looks awesome or terrible. You're usually best of going with metallic colours as they blend really nicely. If you where to paint black and yellow, masking the frame 1/2 would look better. Alternatively a matte black frame with a yellow band running throughout the centre of each tube could look cool.
In the next few weeks going to be doing something pretty cool. Going to be doing a hologram/3d style frame, it will be black, silver, red and blue. Like this picture, just on a bike. I'm going to be fading the paint using all metallic colours so there is no 'line' to the fade. I think it's going to look rad.

would i be able to drop a frame in to be powder coated? im in leicester fairly frequently.
-
• #50
Sure, when receiving frames or parts, I like to have them taken to my home address (for obvious reasons) as my workshop is not open to the public.
PM me when you'd like to drop it to me.
James
It's about 100x thinner than tinfoil, so there's about £5 worth of gold going on this bike. So thin you can't feel a sheet of it in your hand.
