I only had one douche on PBP in 2011, at Dreux.

Mine was on the ride to and from Dreux as the skies opened, I felt my bib shorts start to unstick where they had fused to my skin. I prayed the whole way from Dreux to Paris that I wouldn't get a P* . Hadnt seen anyone repair one for the whole ride until it started to rain, then every other person seemed affected.

Hungry bin is hungry.
At least the 2011 PBP medal could kind of be used as a bottle opener:-

Ah, I'm not alone in my hatred for medals handed out at the end of races then?
I'd rather an event was reduced by a couple of quid than have a medal plsthx -
• #735
I wouldn't say I hate them. At least this one is personalised - generic ones "oh you finished a 100k sportive" are pretty pointless.
This was just shot to wind up one of the guys here who collects medals and loves getting medals after events.

Last time I did the Norwich 100 they were handing out a medal, bag full of "goodies" and a free beer token. Guess which one I went for...

So I was quite impressed with the phenomenal amount of statistics.
Both the oldest man and oldest woman finished quicker than me (the oldest woman by 9 hours)
3 disqualifications. I wonder what they were for

Now worried that mine got lost in the post. All I want is my card back.
There were the cards in your letters as well?
-
• #741
No tabbard, no lights, pissing on someone's front yard, etc?
-
• #742
Yup, the cards came too

So I think some were failure to get a stamp or an electronic registration at a checkpoint, but I think there was also a comment about "obvious cheating"
-
• #744
Failure to get a stamp at a control is usually a 2h time penalty. Someone on yacf had this (with a finish time of 88h05) but the ACP saw sense and credited him with a 90h00 finish time (rather than HD or DNF).
A full DQ would have to have involved something reasonably bad. The answer will probably turn up on yacf in due course.

Last time there were stories about someone getting a lift in a car for part of the way. That would probably do it.

Nice!

I saw someone furtively unload their bike out of the back of a car this time around.

• #748
But you'd know. Deep inside.
-
• #749
That's just silly - best to get dropped off 100 yards down a side-road so it looks like you've just been for a pee.
-

Yeah you would have thought. Although given everyone pissed and shat by the side of the road without any concession to modesty/decency then maybe not.
Douche France seems a little harsh
