  • buys latest Venge
spends £5000 wind-tunnel testing saddle pack options

  • ..it's not a race

  • as long as it's an opinel, and you're using it to slather brie / slice offal onto pain rustique - no problem

  • It's always a race..

  • I think this has something to do with food or possibly sex with animals, I'm really not sure..

  • Go for the Proviz gilet. Fantastic piece of kit. Nice and warm but also well ventilated when necessary.

Be careful with the sizes though as they are commuter cut as opposed to race. I'm 6'2 78kg 40 inch chest and a small is a good fit. Any small and thin guys I know are opting to wear the women sizes.

  • Any shops stock them for sizing?

  • Not sure. I tried mine on at the bike show this year in Excel from a UK distributor. Best prices also seem to be on eBay.

  • Cycle PS in Camberwell had the proviz jackets, could be close enough for testing sizes?

  • Cheers. Might head there after work one night.

  • Tuesday nights are quite fun ...

  • What's special about Tuesdays?

  • SEs beers! £3 pint and £5 pizza :)

  • South AND east??

    reconsiders journey

    :P

  • Its more westerly than the current (?) Souths pub for whatever thats worth!

  • Yeah, I know, a mate used to live in Camberwell. Seemed like an odd spot for South EAST drinks being just below the City. Anyway, it depends on work but I'd like to check these tops out at some stage.

Need to think about other kit choices and bike setup too. I'll have a month after the 24hr to recover and then 'train up' on the road bike instead of TT bikes. Still debating whether to swap saddles on it. I know I'm going to leave that decision too late.

  • I did a 200 in Oct. Does that mean I could've preregistered? Fucksake.
Nevermind. It wasn't a BRM event. Phew.

  • Vedettes groups A,B,C are full already.

  • Yeah, a bit shit. Looks like we'll have a few people to chase.

  • "Will you have a support vehicle at controls?"

    Erm.. audax..

  • Meal on Sunday afternoon and phone battery, sir?

  • DVD and jersey... more no's...

  • Bike check time 17:30. Shit, need to book a train or something.

  • Registered. Paid. Let's boogie!

  • We wish you a good training, and a safe and enjoyable PBP !

    Bike check 18.00h
    Start 19.45h
