Amazing!
I'm only about 6'1 so not huge, just long legs. -

Such a casual intro to this thread!
Just built this yesterday, as you do!
Awesome bike though. -

why such lame gearing? setup looks nice even with the obnoxious amount of seatpost showing.

• #34
Please explain the term lame?

Looks like 48/20ish? Must be insanely spinny unless you lived in an area with lots of hills but brak3lezz suggests otherwise. It'd do my head in anyway.

48x19, 68 GI and perfectly fine for all the rides of done, managed HoP on it, did Ditchling on it, gonna to cambridge on it this saturday.
It's easy on the knees and gives more skid patches than you could shake a stick at.

Perhaps they assumed it was for track and not tarck.

Perhaps, I do have a 14t on the other side of the hubs, will throw a 15 on there some time for when I do manage to get to the track, I fear this will have it's track debut on the forum track day.

That bar saddle drop does make my eyes water though.
I saw some bloke on Uxbridge Road riding his skidder on the drops with the most ridiculous gorilla-like locked out arm position. He did later change to riding the tops but anyway I was mildly amused.

It's completely manageable when I don't have a backpack on, even getting down into the drops a fair bit today, bless my young joints.
Very glad I wear cycle shorts most of the time!

Your joints might be ok but don't run to us in a couple of years wondering why you can't please the womenfolk any more.. #horrorstoriesarefun

Word, I ran 48/19 for a long time and it's a nice do-it-all gearing. It just looked like a much tamer gearing from my initial inspection of the first photo.

Looks really tidy, good work man. I really want some rotors now. I think the frame looks more super pista than leader, some nice details on it and it looks really stiff.

epic drop.

Must be about a foot and a half?

They are very marmite, I wasn't sure about them right up until buying the wheelset, but now I'm in love with them, these wheels ride brilliant and are light at only 1.60 KG for the set.
What's the spec on your wheels? I'm looking at building up a new set at the moment but 1750ish is about as low as I can get them, although admittedly that's using Sapim Race rather than CX-Ray spokes.

Only 4 and 1/2 scoblebrick
Is there much if any point in painting something that's obviously too small and that's unlikely you'll even keep?
