Stolen bikes

That's the second bike I've heard of being nicked from sandbar since the licensing banned them from having tables (and therefore people) outside..!!

3rd I've heard of, kinda sucks. Also, Chan has had another polo bike stolen, let's hope this one comes back.

At least the 3rd I've heard of too. Lost track if it's 5 or 6 people having had saddle/seatposts nicked around the NQ/Piccadilly area in the last two weeks as well, most had Brooks it seems.

Thanks rhb - I'm not sure and to be honest not sure it changes things in terms of what happens from now on. Police saw somebody tampering with it but refused to investigate further as after beginning a look through the suspect's bag they said it'd be unsafe to continue because of needles. They drove on. Within half an hour the bike was stolen. Now, this isn't a comment on users or drugs of choice since that's none of mine and anyway, after Will Self there's plenty of other ways to fund any kind of habit right?! I mention it though as more a shout out to potential customers in the re-sale community that something's been nicked by somebody who's unlikely to be doing much touring in the near future so would likely sell it to somebody who might sell it on to somebody etc etc. And if a Thorn, black tourer turns up then to think twice.... hopefully they would do anway ;) Thanks again.

You're right it won't change owt for the owner in question but knowing what locks are being targeted can help others make informed choices to reduce risk of further thefts.

It's a shame the po-po didn't take more action, although no certainty it was same individual who took the bike (esp. if it was a poor quality cable lock that opportunistic thieves could target).

Will still look out for it, worth checking cash-generator type places maybe?

Spotted another saddle missing this morning. PX Kaff double-locked near Printworks. I imagine it was a Brooks, would have suited the build. Seatpost still there which was a bit odd!

Fuckers. I've got some old chain and innertubes if anyone wants to beef up their saddle security?

Hello all
They got me good. I've had both my 2010 BMC Streetfire, and my Greg Lemond fixed gear bike stolen. The Lemond was fitted with bullhorns at the time rather than drops as pictured.
I'd appreciate it if you could keep your eyes and ears open.

Another one... My girlfriend's 'not been on the road long since we built it using parts mostly from the NCC jumble' Bianchi Pista Concept 2003. Running a Bianchi K-vid road fork (and a brake), Ellipses, Gatorskins, Miche Primato 50x16, Nitto bullhorns, Lightskin seatpost, matching Fizik Arione saddle & microtex tape etc...
Went missing in Whalley Range yesterday lunchtime, so please keep 'em peeled for anything remotely celeste in the surrounding areas, or indeed anywhere across town.
Throw a lock on it, pop me a PM, call me on 07515556846, you know the drill...
Chances are it's been taken by local kid on half term, but please keep an eye out for bits on sale down the usual channels.

One of the French BMX squad had their road bike stolen in mcr today, slim chance but if anyone sees it chuck a d-lock on it etc etc.

Hey Guys, stolen this morning at 4am from inside my compound:

Cinelli Mash 2009-2010 grey
Dent on the top tube. scratch on the paint on the top tube.
back wheel has a blue "phil" hub with 2 phil sprockets on a black H+son rim
tyres are black and white rubino pros
front wheel is a campagnolo Vento
cranks are campagnolo c-record
pedals are time atac
stem and seat post are thomson in black
seat and handlebar grip tape match ( fizik arione)
handlebars are carbon cobra wings bullhorns with frayed grip tape (electric blue)

frame has been marked with Bike Register Marking: 01 869 45151
Frame Number: 9MCL589720
Needless to say, please PM me if anything comes up etc etc

I'm told Foodcycle MCR have had their trailer stolen. They use this to distribute food. It's yellow. If spotted let them know.

Bit further away, Nigel Page had his bikes robbed, might show up in mcr.
