Diary of a Grand Tour Addict, or Going Cold Turkey in a Hot Country:
A Bad Case of the Vuelta BluesDisclaimer - I haven't seen a minute since Stage 3 so all the above is probably bollocks.

You've missed some good riding, been like a series on one-day races so far. Enjoy catching up

The Vuelta ought to follow suit with TdF and drop bonus seconds for the stage win. While I particularly hate it when the scheme works against my personal favourites, objectively speaking I don't think it adds anything to the race. On the contrary...

Think I might just tune in for the last 50km or so... nice couple of bumps towards the finish.
-
• #108
last climb indeed looks like a killer
-
• #109
Nah. That's a piece of piss. Much of it is down hill.
-
• #110
Hang in there Nico!
-
• #111
Hats off for Horner though...
-
• #112
Wow massive respect to Chris Horner. 41 years old mamil

Is he riding really wide bars? Looks so weird out of the saddle, but clearly working for him!
-
• #115
Yeah, wide bars, a high stem and one cleat angled out at 15 degrees or something.
Hope for all of us yet...
Amazing performance. This years the GT's have really delivered.
-
• #116
he looks shocking on a bike. Should be disqualified immediately for lowering the tone of the peloton...
Also: take a look at that guy in interview and honestly tell me he has not taken a SHIT load of performance enhancing drugs in his life.

That just makes a mockery of the Vuelta as a race.
Horner, who has been consistently standard, even disappointing in Europe, finds best form at age of 41. No chance.
-
• #118
Please don't go there... Can't quite comprehend it myself, but for now I'm just gonna celebrate that one or two of the OGs can still compete at GT level.

Right I'm off to google his wife.

Watching the vuelta highlights again. Finding it hard to care about any of this
-
• #123
Oh fuck off Horner
-
• #124
For what reason; due to Horner coming out of nowhere or what?
-
• #125
I'll take that as a yes... :)
Just got around to watching the Tony Martin stage. Damn......
Even though I knew he didn't win I was still on the edge of the seat.
