  • I have been looking for a Strada O.S Brain tubing 56/57/58 Merckx for ages. Can anyone help? I would be interested in swapping with my very yellow banana Professional Super Record Panto.

  • some new pics...

The Strada's are the ones with round seatstays without EM logo, right? If so, I think I have one.

  • Also, I added this one to my collection:

  • Lush!! Such beautiful frames the corsa extra and that's a fine example and build.
Makes me want to get mine finally finished, just campag toe clips and a shamal truing tool away.

Do it! And post a picture afterwards!

Another one I have in my collection, but it's waaaay too small (52,5 cm C-T) so I'm probably going to let it go. Corsa Extra team Telekom, with eyelid for a race number:

  • Trust me, I'm trying.
The last few bits are always a bugger to sort out and especially when dealing with corsa extra's and c-record!

Hopefully this tool will true the shamal.

Then and pair of these in large..

and some LA84's bars down the line.

Nice Frame (again*) always like the telekom colours, mine's the same, but more midnight blue than black on the tt/forks, not sure what that makes it. I might have a nice (near complete) c-record group, if you wanted to make it a keeper!
*seems you have quite a collection, no?

Here's (almost) all the bicycles I have (once had). Some have been sold, some will never be sold :-)

  • Never thought it would be a carbon but am slightly surprised how much I enjoy it with a carbon record group set. Nearly sold it early on but glad I didn't. Unfortunately may have to sell it soon to fund a trip.

  • My 55cm square Corsa Extra with complete Dura Ace 7801. Still a touch grimey after the weekend ride and needs new bar tape after a very slow off. Rides beautifully.

  • Is that SLX new?

  • Is that SLX new?

No it's regular SLX. The frame has braze on headtube cable guides so with the decals I think it's from 1995ish...

  • i have the same frame but with green/yellow text, even the same sticker near the head tube so was thinking Chorus 9 speed. Good to get a date for it.

  • From looking around I think SLX new came in during 1996/97 and the decals changed at the same time. Most of the early 1990s frames including the team colourways resemble mine although I haven't seen any other with those braze ons which is why I think it's a bit later. This site is worth checking if you haven't already: http://www.cadre.org/Merckx/

  • mine doesn't have a tubing sticker but does have braze on cable guides on the head tube. I'll put a pic up tonight. thanks for the link, is yours a G number? mine's a G

going by the date code table on that link G should in theory be 1998/99?

  • Mine's H, which doesn't help accurate dating.

  • I have a Corsa Extra in Team Telekom colors wich has braze on cable guides: http://imgur.com/a/fJn8x

    Mine's a D.

  • Mine is a Team Alu from i guess 1997 going by the numbers stamped under the bottom bracket, it also has a 'Pro-tag' number hanger.

The original forks were aluminium with a threaded steel steerer, heavy & ugly, that i swapped out for no-name carbon ones which i sprayed red and added Merckx decals to. just need to cut the tube to final length.

Gruppo is Campagnolo Record 10 speed, wheels are Fulcrum 5's.

The rear wheel clearance is insanely minimal, i'd estimate about 1-2 mm between tyre and seat tube.

I would quiet like to get a replacement for the seat tube decal but i don't know what it is.

The bike does ride nice and fast.

    Thanks,

What's left of the decal does indeed look as if it would have read as 'Extralight'.

Does anyone know where i could source a replacement?
