Same as mine, what size is this one?

This has the sweetest proportions i've seen on an MX-Leader.

Indeed the same as yours, saw the pictures of yours here.
Mine is a 58. I doubted first buying it because the Alu Mega I have is 58 too (and too big) but this one has a much shorter steerer tube so the feeling on the bike is completely different. Hope for some nice weather the coming weeks so I can do a decent test ride. Not only with this Merckx, I recently have built up a Colnago Master and bought two weeks ago a '94 Carrera (Columbus EL) and I can't wait to test them.

55 cm, I guess (the "sweet proportions").

Here is my Merckx 'Arcobaleno' set-up as single speed to test fit/ride prior to being equiped with 10 speed Campagnolo Record and tubs.

i picked this up last year, Eddy Professional with full panto campagnolo super record
the frame was too big for me as well as having a very badly corroded rear triangle
so i managed to sell it, and get a frame in good condition for a very fair price, but sadly no chromed rear triangle
I'm thinking yellow benotto bar ribbon with gum lever hoods, debating tan/ish concor, and think i have to make a wheelset up -

I always look at the secondary colour in a frame and then match tape etc to that.
Yellow tape, cable and Turbo/Concor would look super against the dark blue.
It's odd how only the arse on the first Merckx is badly rusted, was the previous owner's shed too small?

i found the corroded one under tarpaulin in a garden, was basically sitting there rotting away

Yellow suede Concor/Black tape imho. Looks to be a good build. Campy needs a good dose of

You should do a build thread Saarf!

see , i'd go for a subtler yellow, I have benotto yellow, and the condor is more of a light tan than yellow, though in a rather used state, so may be used on a 77 colnago build, so may look for another in good/new condition as this merckx decor is in rather good condition
quite some marking on the merckx panto sr gruppo, so i will probably de anodise , rub out lighter marks ,and bring back to a reasonably shine, as i don't like over polished finishes
this is saddle and ribbon
the colnago is was going to get yellow decal for and poss use above

You know's best Saarf. If it was me I would put the Yellow tape + The Brown Saddle on the Red Colnago above with the yellow decals as the brown would suit the red. The Merckx's blue is a tad bit dark for the brown leather, but that's just me. Have fun deciding.

Eddy Merckx Arcobaleno (rainbow) Neuron tubed frame.
I slapped good old Campagnolo ten speed on it with Ambrosio tubulars built by me and trued by someone who knew what he was doing.
These came after the MX Leader and follows a similar way of shaping the down tube which is a kind of horizontal oval at the bottom bracket end but goes to round at the headtube junction.
Semi-lugged construction ie: the headtube joints are fillet brazed but the bottom bracket and seatpost area are lugged. It rides more like an Italian whippet than the Leader which felt stately and long-haul. Note the seatpost fixing bolt.
I'm guessing that Alu and then Carbon made the Arcobaleno less successful than the Corsa and Leader models.
