Let me know if you fancy a pair of Merckx Podio pedals for it...I'm near completing my Merckx and definitely have no use for them...maybe have a panto'd stem as well, but looks a touch short going by your current set up.

Merckx previous owner? I had a 7-11 corsa extra that I sold a few days ago... Missing it all ready!

Am I doing it right? Bought the frame from Dimi.

I have full Campagnolo Chorus 8 Speed groupset / campagnolo aero ?Chorus? seatpost / Campagnolo Vento Wheels / Selle San Marco Regal Ti.
Got generic condor bars and ITM, still sourcing some good bars and stem...but at the moment, these will do..
Going to change the bottle cage soon'ish...

that chorus is built for 9 speedz as far as I know but I get why you'd want to rock those ventos with the 8-speed cassette, that is one good looking merckx

hmm, but my shifters only shift 8 times and they;re campag chorus or am i mistaken?

I don't think it's 1980, but a couple of years later (1982/83/84). 1980 and 1981 were all about the signature seatstays, and didn't have the Columbus sticker on the frame :-)

Just saying what I'm thinking! But the seatstays with the EM logo kind of give it away. Again, awesome bike though!
