Induction at Manchester is £16 though.

If you just want to race for the day I suppose £90 is prohibitive. That said, there are ways around it, and I'm sure LFGSS.CC could negotiate a massive rebate for one or two group inductions, or better yet hire a BC qualified track coach for the day. In any event I don't see the need for track racing induction as a hinderance, more like part of the fun.

Presumably £90 is to get from "total noob" to "not a danger to other users". Will previous offences be taken into consideration? Plenty of people are already accredited at Manchester/Newport/Calshot

£90 is cheap then if it transforms people to that extent. Can I sign up some of the muppets I saw on my commute this morning?

where did you get £90 figure?

Accomplished track cyclists who are already accredited at Glasgow, Manchester or Newport velodromes do not require accreditation for using Lee Valley VeloPark’s velodrome. New cyclists will have to go through a four stage accreditation which costs £90 (£67 concession price). This includes bike hire and coaching.

Like I said, we can work around it. Most people on here are experienced fixed gear riders and the need for hiring bikes will be minimal. Let's look for solutions instead of creating problems. Induction is not a problem.

christ. That's steep.

Nah, 4 months for tax evasion is pretty standard

Seems like £90 is for people who have no track bike and probably haven't ridden fixed/clipped in before. I'm sure lfgss.cc could get a much better rate for groups of people who are experienced fixengers bringing their own track bikes.
If you do all four stages at Calshot it's over £100 to get formally accredited to join the weekly training sessions.

Exactly, we're talking about the induction of experienced fixed gear riders, enabling them to safely ride the track, not turning a complete noob into the next Patrick Sercu or Danny Clark.

or Joseph Gordon-Levitt for that matter.

Patrick Sercu or Danny Clark.
Showing your age there :-)
Saw both of them at Wembley back in the olden days. Now that we have a track, can we have a Six Day in London again?

Didn't Tony Doyle announce he was doing one a few years back?
He did - link in first post here;

Like all of his announcements, it is to be taken with a large pinch of salt.

Six Day in London. That would be amazing.

"... Now that we have a track, can we have a Six Day in London again?"
So are you actually suggesting putting Stratford, one of the best cycling arenas in the world, to good use? Six-day racing in London will never catch on. Besides the fact that madison is terribly boring to watch and will never draw an audience, it's not like track racing is the foundation of the success of British cycling and we're now one of the strongest track nations in the world... Oh tester, don't be silly.

"Showing your age there :-)"
I'm just in with the kids... Trust me, if there is such a thing as six-day racing in a thousand years time, it will still be all about Sercu and Clark. My dad would drag me all across Europe for the six-day circuit in them days.
...good times :)
if it's a proper induction with decent instruction that properly prepares you for riding on a track then i think it would probably be worth it.
