Interesting.

The prize list looks amazing. If it is rained off tomorrow, I hope we can reschedule!

**LFGSS Cheese and Wine Party - update **
In view of RPM's sound advice about rain and possible closure....
If this is the case cheese and wine will be served outside the gates on Burbage Road
Thanks....

If the weather really is that bad, then you'll likely be able to reschedule for another time.
This is good to know! I assumed the track is so busy these days that there'd be no chance of getting time before the end of the season.

Complete bummer if they lock the gates! Not that I'd blame them if the weather was that bad.
Poots, I suggested those events to support the mega-organisers as they avoid bunched racing which would be lethal with experienced riders.
Any chance of a definitive on/off post on this thread by 10.30 tomorrow?

Me and laner are aiming to reach there by 12 mainly to liaise with coach and other things also to get a tentative number of riders who are doing induction on the day and are racing.
You can always get weather closure updates on HH twitter feed: https://twitter.com/hernehillvel

Will be too late for me, my train is at 7.15 tonight.. Might bring my BC license and try blag onto Sunday if the accreditation is still on. I'm assuming there's a longer induction process for 'proper' racing?

I'm pretty sure you have to have done an induction to race in the novices on sunday.
The accrediation/trial races for novices at keirin is not in place a proper induction.
If you're planning to race in the seniors i doubt there will be an issue (though there is a waiting list)Best to ask on the Kerin event thread/PM caspar to confirm.

I believe entry is now closed for the Keirin event.
In fact they were over subscribed. -

You also suggested events with standing starts, probably the worst thing you can try and do on a wet track ;)
-
• #563
Fair comment RPM, I was presuming a (non-standard) push start, but probably not safe enough even then.... Just trying to save some competition on a wet day, I stand(ing start) corrected!

I know, but it's probably not worth forking out for track hire unless it's safe to ride.
Who knows, a whole day of rain is very unlikely at this time of year.
What you want is for it to stop about 1200 and start up again at 1700 -

Interesting.
How else do you think cheese is made?

Is it worth calling a postponement?

Is it worth calling a postponement?
Always found the Herne Hill staff extremely risk adverse.. if they say its okay to race then im happy to race.
-
• #574
be positive guys, its going to be fine, forecast says the heavy rain is going to stop at 13:00 .. might change (for good).
