Meh. I've got to pay £2k to get a 75p oil seal changed on my car some time soon. And that's the cheap option - the main dealer wanted £5k for the job.
I think I may have a set of (used) shields somewhere if Sigma can't provide the goods, but I suspect Sigma can get them to you as fast as I could, if not faster.

Why £2k? That's more than my whole car cost. Can you do it yourself?
I'll do it for 1800.. but you'll have to wait until after TCR. -

Angular bearing BB for BSA30, but probably won't arrive in time. #arsebiscuits

It's a 5 litre V10 twin-turbo, so free space is at something of a premium in the engine bay. Basically, there isn't any.

5 litre V10 twin-turbo
So, little London grocery-getter than?
Which oil seal are you talking about? Box of beer, hammer and some gaffer tape and it'll be good as new. When do you want me to start?

Fuck it. Whole new BB on the way.
What's the bet my BB tool doesn't fit? Wheels Mfg better fucking use Shimano tooth profile.

Not the one I got...

They state they require a BBT-29. I have a BBT-9 with the plastic reducer for Shimano stuff but I have no idea what BBT-29 is.
"The Park Tool BBT-29 Bottom Bracket Tool is a double-ended bottom bracket wrench designed to fit 16-notch bearing cups with an outside diameter of 39mm (e.g. Shimano Dura-Ace 9000 series and XTR 980 series) as well as 16-notch bearing cups with an outside diameter of 48.5mm (e.g. FSA MegaEvo )."
I have 9000 cranks but only ran them with adapters in BB30 BBs so don't think I've ever used 9000 series BB.

Oh, I also have the existing Rotor BB tool - any idea if this one would fit?

"Our very own double-ended bottom bracket wrench designed to fit 16-notch bearing cups with an outside diameter of 44mm as well as 16-notch bearing cups with an outside diameter of 48.5mm. Machined aluminum, anodized red.
Compatible with all current Wheels Mfg bottom brackets with notched cups."

I used a multi hook tool in the end. Very carefully and with plenty of padding around the frame. No issues and using copper slip went in very nicely.
Not recommending this method btw. Even though it worked. -

"Note: Use only bottom bracket tools compatible with 16-notch MegoEvo BB’s. (FSA MegaEvo and Park Tool BBT-29)."

I guess I'll see what I can do with what I have tomorrow and if I can't install it I'll visit a shop or order the tool for next day delivery. Or I could order it now and return it if I already have the right tool. Hmm..

multi hook tool
? One of those things with a single hook on the end of a round pivot piece?
-
• #316
I've got one of them. Want to borrow it?

"There are 2 new smaller sizes, the Ultegra/XT version is approximately 41mm in diameter and requires the Shimano TL-FC24 adapter to be used with the original HollowTech II tool. There is also the Dura Ace/XTR version which is approximately 39mm in diameter, these require the Shimano TL-FC25 adapter. "

Not exactly.
I want to know if my BBT-9 with or without the plastic adapter or my Rotor BB tool is the same as "16-notch MegoEvo BB’s. (FSA MegaEvo and Park Tool BBT-29)" and if it's not can I just get a different plastic adapter (http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/shimano-bb-adaptor-installation-tool-tl-fc24/rp-prod137442)?
BB standards are fucked enough without me needing different tools. Fuck bikes.

Yes. My BB is one of these

I might have one of those along with the BBT-9 and Rotor tool. I'll hold off ordering another tool until the BB arrives.

The BBT-9 won't work with the WM bottom bracket. The WM bottom bracket requires a 16 tooth tool for a 48.5mm OD BB. You can use:
- Park Tools BBT-29 - the larger of the two ends
- Park Tools BBT-27
- WM BB48-44 - the larger of the two ends
- Enduro BBT-025
The standard Shimano tool is 44mm OD, so it's too small. The plastic reducer takes it down to a 41mm OD, so even more too small. The BBT9 is for 44mm BBs - 'The BBT-9 fits cups and lockrings with 16 external notches and an outside diameter of approximately 44mm. - so it's too small for the WM BB.
The Rotor tool is different again, not least because the Rotor BSA30 BB has only 12 splines. Comparing the Rotor tool to the WM BB48-44 I'd say the OD is also slightly smaller for the Rotor tool.
- Park Tools BBT-29 - the larger of the two ends

Awesome! (well, not the clusterfuck that is BB standards, but awesome having knowledge - I need another tool). I owe you a passionate kiss with tongue and groping.

I can't wait. As foreplay, here's my current selection of BB tools.

Yeah, similar. I don't have the nice bearing presses though, just the big arse Park one.

Need to remove a Rotor spider lockring? Don't own a vice? You need the Danstuff Rotor leverage tool...

Oooh didn't see those. Annoying having to buy shitter bearings just to get a 5p seal. Noted, cheers.
