My SEIS3 from the initial round arrived yesterday.
The link above ^^ talks mostly about the requirements for the company rather than the investor.
The below links are a bit more useful for investors, about how to claim relief.

even if you're paye, still send off the claim as it'll increase your tax free allowance.
e.g. you invested £100, you can claim £50 off your tax bill (or 50% of whatever you invested), once only, either for last tax year, or this tax year

The tax relief as part of your investment, the SEIS thing, is due on Round 1.
An SEIS3 certificate form has been signed by myself, filled in by Seedrs, and dispatched to the address that Seedrs have on record.
Completing the form on page 2 will allow you to claim the SEIS tax relief.
The tax relief either comes in the form of a rebate (if you're earning lots) or an increase in your PAYE allowance (so you get paid more, untaxed, before tax is due... thus giving you the SEIS benefit into your pay packet).
Either way, you need to fill in the SEIS3 form appropriately and file your self-assessed tax return with HMRC for all this stuff to work. This last line is voodoo for me, and that's why people are now discussing the details in this thread.

voodoo?
for self assessment types, even if you've filed last year's return already, you can retrieve it and update the notes adjacent to other income reliefs with the relevant SEIS reference numbers and details. then resubmit.
for paye-rs, a call to your tax office then filing a copy of the seis form should suffice.

voodoo?
Limiting my liability for telling you how to do your own return. I am not a tax advisor, and the word 'voodoo' is so much more succinct at communicating the essence of "Look this stuff up yourself.".

• #861
true, voodoo is more succinct than UTFS

Right - who wants my shares in Microcosm when the date for me to sell them comes up?
-
• #863
I might be interested. How many you gots?
-
• #864
$5?
-
• #865
this is the great thing about seedrs - normally it's pretty hard to just invest in a private company.
-
• #866
Is it possible / legal to trade them?
-
• #867
yes - hang on, I'll find it again. The person you sell them to needs to be on seedrs, but I guess they would just sign up purely for that purpose.

• #869
Interesting.

• #870
I'm very interested in getting into seedrs and microcosm so if anyone has shares I'll willing to accept any and all for a reasonable price.
-
• #871
Dude, just wait for the NYSE flotation. Jeez.
-
• #872
haha I would like to think I could play some small part in the success of the company before that point :)
-
• #873
disposal of SEIS shares before three years will result in lost or reduced CGT relief
HMRC require to be informed within 60 days if you do this

Time to start using pictures of 'rock' girls in vests and cheap fedora hats.
Awesome. Thanks David.
I guess the form itself is also being sent out by Seedrs?
