We should have some sort of party to celebrate.
then you can both go right back to your 'puters and finish this thing off.

They certainly earned their seven and a half grand.

Is this record-breaking?
Yes, it is.

Yes, it is.
Will you be having a party, Carlos, or is this all very much in a day's work for you guys?

We did a collective high five and then back to work. :)
Today was super exciting but there are lots of things we want to improve to make the Seedrs process as efficient and fun as possible for you guys.

Congratulations guys. I only topped up my holding to keep my % but will add my name to the standby list should any drop out.
Go have a drink to celebrate then go make us proud!Where is this standby list? I missed out due to slackness and ineptitude (my own) but would still like in if possible.

It's on the normal investor pages, you're just put onto a reserve list for if anyone drops out. The link that VB provided should still take you to the right place.

Not sure if this was meant sarcastically or not, but I really do think that Seedrs work for their cash.
They do all of the SEIS checks for you, they run the website and the mixers, and all of the other background checks and other work to make this happen.
Because Microcosm has gone so fast both times, I don't think that we see all of the support that they offer, Not having been to one of the mixers yet (I do intent to get to one at some point) I strongly suspect that they are a true key for those firms that have to take more time, and do more work to persuade people to sign up than David or Matt have done (not suggesting that David and Matt haven't done this work, just other people don't have the sizeable pool of people to tap, which must make it harder).
I'm also fairly sure that anything you get back from the taxman re SEIS doesn't count towards you making profit on your investment, so you've that to count against the 7.5% they (quite rightly) get off of our profits too...

Seedrs have been great and earned their slice.
They do the legals, the due diligence, the background and proof checks, the site, the payment processing, the escrow, the nominee legals, the SEIS/EIS processing.
I could easily get Orrick and others to do this that and the other, but it would ultimately cost more, and you'd still have less of a basis to trust that the due diligence and background checks were all done.
Worth every penny.
( I fear Seedrs might quote me on this, I hate being quoted )

I think it's a great way to open up the thrilling experience of startup investment to a broader cohort of people. It does for startups what Thatcher did for British Gas in the eighties.

What'll you spend it on instead, Luci?
Jazz mags and port.

Shit, is it too late to get my money back?

Bash mags and a Foffa.
Jazz mags and port.
Close.

Not having been to one of the mixers yet (I do intent to get to one at some point)
you'll be disappointed; the ratio of bullshitters to actual investors is pretty high.
"..oh what did you invest in, and why? I haven't yet, but intend to. In the meantime I have an idea that I'd like you to consider investing in, here's my card.."
still, got a few drinks and me bum squeezed...

I tried to get on the standby list but get this message pop up - "Because this listing is in its standby period, you must have enough funds in your account before you can invest."
Does this mean I need actual funds deposited into Seedrs to get on the standby list?
Brilliant - I am heading to Smithfields later after work (to pick up some forks) so if you are around I'll buy you a beer. Or as co-owner you could buy me a beer?
