Thanks everyone, and spotter when it's finished and I have the bike in London I will let you know. Looking at my position on the bike, my biceps aren't nearly vertical, and from what I understand that is a good starting point. Although I've been itching to use the flite seatpost, it will need to be swapped for an inline jobbie.

As with the ironies of building a TT bike, I'm not really getting anywhere fast. I'm still getting slippage from the stem even with a shim, so think it's time to buy a 26.0 specific clamped stem. Even after strategic superglue applications the front tyre is still leaking from around the valve base. Most of all I'm worried the frame may not even be 10 speed suitable. When in the highest gear on the cassette (smallest cog) it's rubbing against the seatstay. Any advice on this?

What length stem do you need?
Adding hub spacers would ping the stays apart (both sides obvs).
Or smaller top cog? :)

I need a 70-80mm really to get me in the ball park which will get my biceps closer to being vertical. Good suggestion about the spacers I will try that, but am reluctant to be too dramatic as the seat stays are shortened due to the monostay.

I've got an 80mm Kalloy: lost some paint from insertion but the extension is unmarked.
