Not at all :)

@Howrad, yes, Saturday, I've booked the tickets now so can't move it but that means you can recover on Sunday! On bike spaces, yes, there is lots of space, but they only guarantee six. If anyone wants to book another £8 ticket and risk it that's fine, and they will probably be fine, but it only takes one jobsworth guard and anyone without a space reserved is screwed....
On fixed v. gears, I'm happy to do it fixed, I'm pretty sure Oli is too, so that's EVERYONE on fixed so far. Fixed centuries are fun, fact.

those who seem to prefer a Sunday ride: fussballclub (going on my lookup of the phrase 'Sacre Bleu'!)
Ha, I think he was referring to the fact that the 14th is Bastille Day, but it's not on the 14th now so any Frenchmen are free to celebrate Bastille Day unhindered.

Probably otherwise engaged on Saturday: my toilet is disappoint...

that's encouraging -
@ChainBreaker - surely you could do it now (?!), without concern for fitness, as everybody else would be handicapped - being without the gears!

I'm still struggling with my back. Spend my life stretching and all I got is 18 mile days...
Not sure how long it would take before I spazzed out...

Well if you really needed to spazz out, that route runs parallel pretty much to the Norwich-London train line, so there would probably be a bail out station within easy range of the Spazz Moment!
About the back thing, staying seated too long in the office chair?! Maybe tour the office doing muscle flexes and more stretches in each corner?!!

We're going to have about 120 miles to cover all in, so we'll need to get up and atom early - Lea Bridge Road roundabout at 8.30am for a prompt 8.45 departure.
meet outside the Clapton Hart perhaps?

I'm off work sick today, feel crap. I don't think I'm going to be recovered by tomorrow enough to ride 120 miles in the heat. Sorry.
If anyone wants to do the ride the route is in the OP and I can PM you the code for picking up the tickets from Hackney Downs, seems unlikely but just in case.
I'm not buying tickets in advance for a ride again, I'm £48 down :(
I have officially cocked up organising this ride, what with the train spaces thing then moving the day without checking. Arse.

That sucks, Pete, such bad luck. :(

If it wasn't for the stag do I have to go to tomorrow I'd step in. Come on somebody, this ride needs rescuing. Its a beautiful part of the world and the route is a cracker.

No reason you can't do it on your own, I've done the odd solo century and they're fine.
It's not like you have to worry about wind, so you don't need any wheels to suck. You just need to worry about the heat ;)

I'll lead/navigate if we move the meet/start time forward 30 minutes and if anyone else actually trusts me to do that.
-
• #97

Clearly I am not going to be leaving at 9 even but does anybody else actually want to do this (assuming I can get the info tickets from Fox)?

We're gonna go semi nuclear (!), starting out on the route for a couple of hours or so, then heading back.. Leaving from Hackney in the next half an hour or so if anybody else wants to join in, PM!
Might do this and bail out at Colchester to visit the 'rents if that's not bad form.
