This is for the TT bike so I don't care about wear rate as I don't do much braking but when I need to stop I need to stop -now-. Any idea if Black Prince are better than the grey Zipp pads?

My Reynolds blue seem to be made out of dust.
Installed before Dammits visit. Now half gone.
Definitely going back to black Prince.

I like the campag red pads much better than Reynolds blue on my Chinese crabons. A bit grabbier but much better stopping in the wet and dry.
Agreed swissstop yellows are shite. -

Looks like I got some of the last ones I am afraid, the Evo pads were only a few quid more.

Enve pads offer better performance than the Swissstops

£35 for two pads? Fucking rubber robbers!

Swissstop say their Yellow pads have more stopping power than their Black Prince pads so maybe I should be using them as it's generally panic stop or heading into RABs at 60kph when I need to make the most of them. Modulation not so important, no feathering on mountain descents on the TT bike.

I'm hoping, based on the Q&A on that page, that there will be a full set of pads in the box:

Not in my experience.

I've not used the Zipps, so cannot offer any direct experience on that, I did want to try them but found them (at the time) impossible to purchase for less than a billion pounds.

I should stick with them because I have a few sets already. I'm going to swap the wheel out and swap to alu pads to see if it's the caliper that's spongy or the carbon rims are really just shit. It's annoying that the rear (alu) braking is so much better than the front.

I've got some heavily worn but still usable Black Prince you could have to test? They won't last a mountain descent, but they'd be fine for a TT/testing purposes.

Anyone tried these yet? Moar pad etc

They're not in the Zipp list so I wouldn't use them on mine.

Bumping this... I have the fear.
After the vintage Juna trispoke was serviced I was in a hurry to test it, so asked and bought the recommended off-the-shelf jobs from the not-so-lbs.
They're Clarks "CPS200/CARB" brand, apparently for carbon rims (brown/yellow colour, dusty). Don't have the cash right now to blow out on Swiss Stops, but will I be okay for now do you think?
Not planning on any serious riding with the wheel yet, but more worried cheap pads may ruin the carbon rim.
Tested for a couple stops, the rim isn't totally true as expected, so there are points with more dust/wear than others just for the 10 minute test. Went home sheepish. Too many horror stories of people destroying rims with incorrect pads...
Worse still, I paid rrp...!

O-M-G,
I have read all your comments guys and I have to react. If you use incorrect brake pads you can damage/destroy your rims and as you use non recommended brake pads you will avoid a warranty!!!
Zipp wheels = Zipp brake pads
Enve wheels = Enve brake pads
Campagnolo wheels = Campagnolo brake pads
etc.Feel free to use incorrect brake pads for your top high end carbon wheels but be prepared to accept the consequences... !
