I have a two pair of shimano Dura Ace R55 carbon pads - i.e - two pairs for two callipers, a full set.
Never fitted. Never ridden.
You can have em for 30boys. -

I need the shoes as well. The pads without the shoes are about £40.

Don't you have brakes already? Just slot the pads into the existing SRAM shoes.
ie. these pads are replaceable.

I have a pair of carbon wheels and a pair of alu wheels which I chop and change to suit so I don't want to have to keep changing just the pads over.
I'd prefer to simply change the shoes.

Always handcut the cork pads for the Bontrager myself.

I'd prefer to simply change the shoes.Right, that makes sense. Obviously the Official Recommendation is now get rid of those silly wheels and stick with the one type. NB: You get to choose which ones stay.
Buy generic replacement holders for not much ££ and then get Swisstop pads or whatever pads you want. SRAM shoes can't be that much can they?

Shoes on their own are a bit of a pain to find, or they were when I last looked.
I've run SwissStop Yellow, then Reynolds Blue, and and am now running SwissStop Black Prince on one bike (Zipps) and Reynolds Blue on another (Chinese carbon).
The Black Prince are good, but I cannot tell any difference from the Reynolds Blue to be honest- and the Reynolds are significantly cheaper.

I've got two pairs of these inserts that are brand spanking new and still in the packets, you can have them for £11.50 posted if you want.

Whats up guys, Im currently trying to find some decent Carbon break pads that can be used with my Zipp 400 front wheel.
I have Shimano brakes and have found a few decent-ish options, but was just wandering if anyone else has any better recommendations.
Heres what ive sniffed out so far:

swissstop yellow king is the best

At leaving yellow streaks on your rims, yes.
For stopping, the Black Prince pads are good, as are Reynolds Blue.

Cheers fella's, think Im gunna take the plunge on the black Prince pads, cant risk the yellow stain

From testing on my rims, which have this basalt surface which eats pads somewhat.
Zipp Cork > Black Prince > Reynolds blue > Swissstop yellow.
I am poor so ended buying some cheap AZ from Evans. I'll report back, but if they're shit I'll probably go black Prince. The zipp pads are horribly expensive.

I'm on my third brake upgrade and no combo seems to work well.
Anyone have experience with 808FC rims w/ Zipp Tangente Platinum Pro Evo Brake pads?
Is there anything better I should try?
Other approved pads for Zipp wheels with carbon brake tracks:
Tangente Platinum Pro (first version Tangente pad)
SwissStop® Black Prince pad
Bontrager cork pads
Zipp carbon/carbon pads
SwissStop® yellow pads
Black Prince pads? Zipp Tangente High Performance Cork Brake Pad? -

No carbon rims ever break well?

I've just come back from a very wet Norway, where I had HED Stinger 4's with Black Prince pads (non-Evo).
In the dry the braking was better (by a surprising margin) than my SwissStop/Flo30 aluminium rims which I rode into work on this morning.
In the wet there was basically nothing until the pad had wiped the rim clean, and there was some heat in the pad - then it was pretty good.
I used the Black Prince pads on my old 404 FC's and recall that being an excellent combination.
The SwissStop yellows are, I think, simply a blatant attempt to troll the world of cycling as they are total shit and just turn your rims a funny colour whilst throwing you over the armco.
I liked the Cryo Blue pads, they were a very good performer with a lower wear rate than the Black Prince - I killed the Black Prince pads in Norway, their wear rate is pretty amazing, but I guess that's a function of how soft they are, and therefore probably a fair exchange for the power and modulation you get.
All,
I need to buy some brake pads for carbon rims.
Having never used them before, someone has recommended Swisstop yellow but after looking around at prices, I don't really want to have to spend £80 on two pairs.
Can anyone recommend anything a little cheaper but still reliable ? I use SRAM calipers.
Thanks.
