• Oh man! So wanted Edisons to win.

So did the majority of the crowd, the singing was good... Going to be walking around singing about edisons or les bigotes for the next couple of days.

Amazing the standard of play, I would have booked my return flight for Sunday if I'd have known!

Going to spend the next 12 months getting fit and playing more polo!

Oh I don't think he reads here, but thanks to Daniel, who was a better polo player than jimmy and me...

  • Shit.... Left my helmet behind, anyone pick up a black, cracked and really shit Bauer helmet with facecage?

  • Things I have learnt from the Euros / Tips for your first Euros:

Arrive the day before! Playing on nil sleep isn't grim in a funny way, it's just grim in a torturous painful way.

A well packed polo bike will be fine in a soft bag.

It doesn't matter if you're playing or not, the atmosphere is fucking epic and you will watch the best damned polo in your life. Don't count on tourism, the courts are where the fun's to be had.

Travel Insurance is a good idea/cut AWAY from yourself.

  • Also:

Edi edi edi edi SONNNNNNS. Edi SONNNNS Edi-soooOOOooonnnnS.

  • Lefty ref ;)

  • Weren't you there?

Nope, had to fly home - shit load of work... :( But at least I played my own games... And the whole experience EHBPC was a-w-e-s-o-m-e...

  • ^ Hah, that's also the moment I rode into erin's arm and gave her the evil eyes.

  • Look up and live, pal.

  • Lefty ref ;)

    Ha!

Which reminds me, things I learnt for future euro's:

    1) be really fit... Not fat. #needtocovertaboutfourstoneoffattomuscle

    2) just because reffing the first day is fun and you don't make any noticeable mistakes, doesn't mean it's a good idea to ref the top thirty... Particularly if you don't really know what call me daddy look like.

  • Ha ! I thought you did a good job, Louis.

  • I like that scoring disk.

  • Ha!

I thought you and loads of people did a great job reffing Louis!

  • Woo, SB 3rd place!!! Awesome

    #latetotheparty

  • Awesome weekend! Bit disappointed with the rain, but delighted when the sun finally came out. The Krispy Kreme donuts and beers with Spain 3 on Thursday night were a highlight. I won't forget this weekend for a long time! #EHBPC2013 #fail

  • Things you learned for future Euros:

    1. Don't go through Walthamstow.
  • Ha ! I thought you did a good job, Louis.

    Cheers E, you helped :)

Thanks badger, I think Fin needs special mention, I heard a couple of players complimenting him on his reffing. (One of them telling me I needed to be more like that ref over there, while pointing at fin)

Also think your (badger's) team mates are as exemplary in the refs chair as on court.

In fact ukpc seemed to be the majority of refs?

  • I like that scoring disk.

That's the penalty disc, when someone commits a bad foul you spin the disc and that's how long they are off for.

Some courts use a giant d6-1.

  • Ah, it looked as if it went up to five for goals.

  • He's pulling your leg Oliver, it's really for counting the number of beers the ref has consumed.

(Awesome reffing this year for sure.)

  • That wouldn't work for Louis, then, as surely it should go up to 11 at least.

  • I like the idea of using giant dice on court, obviously.

  • What was up with the weird dice game being played at Bertel? It appeared a lot of people lost a lot of Zlotys

  • I lost some sweet stickers
