I never leave the house without baggy shorts and a full face helmet, explains a lot.
-
• #1653
How could I have forgotten this!
-
• #1654
I rate this bike so much
anyone know the nearest thing that's made in UK/Europe so I don't get stung with import charges?
-
• #1655
Ask their UK distributor? http://www.ison-distribution.com/all/default.php

Genesis Tarn? Pinnacle Ramin?
-

Stanton Switchback next Gen - assuming you are looking for a steel hardtail that that's short at the back and slack up front and takes a bigger tyre.
-
• #1659
Cotic Solaris? OnOne 45650b if you don't need plus tyres.
-
• #1660
basically want something that's not too long and low, big triangle space for a proper framebag, space for chunky tires and in steel innit
Oh. Switchback might be a bit too long and a bit too focused on the rowdy / gnar.
Stick a 120mm fork in it and you could probably get away with it though.

• #1661
I have the Solaris at the moment :) it's ok, but not really doing anything special for me
-
• #1662
yeah, looking at the sherpa too
-
• #1663
I know ;) What don't you like, and what are you after? 29" or 27.5"? Singular Buzzard is a slightly rowdier Swift, fits 650b+

I don't know...just waiting for something to catch my eye...thanks for that link

• #1665
You just need these ;-)

New model ( longer & slacker ) Karate Monkey?
Although, Surly, All city and Salsa stuff ( all QBP brands ) seems well overpriced now.
-
• #1668
yeah, thought about this but the triangle seems unneccessarily small. I don't need loads of extra standover space for whatever reason..weird

Order something rad and custom from this dude (because BN will never get round to it and I need to live vicariously through someone)
-
• #1670
yes, I'm thinking about it :~). If I could get a custom frame for sub £800 I would be v tempted
only problem is I don't really know anything about bicycle geometry!
maybe something like this: https://gypsybytrade.wordpress.com/2015/10/13/my-pink-meriwether-adventure-bike/
-
• #1671
Would definitely be less than £800 with Marino!
-
• #1672
TvH is a BikeCad wizzerd, so that's your geometry chart sorted...
-
• #1673
because BN will never get round to it
Words to live by.

cue me letting out a long "hmmmmm"

I'm on the look out for the older Genesis High Latitude for that reason
Easy enough to get a third bottle cage added, an eyelet for an internal dropper or maybe even have the rear converted to 12mm thru. Should be reasonably cheap too due to 'older' style geo
Would a High Latitude LT be suited for you?
oh I have... dont you worry about that. to me they dont scream HHSMTB though. they are more of a baggy shorts and full face helmet vibe. each to their own though
