I'm in between two minds now as to build it and ride it or sell it and get some more Ti goodness.
The same frameset sold for £585 on eBay the other week and the Campag parts are also worth good money...

Depending on the Ti that you're going to get, I'd definitely keep this . So much more character and interest. Looks awesome.

Build it up and take pics, then decide. At least then it'll be a pretty auction.

Funny you ask - I have replaced the decals last night so it is now ready to sell:

Thanks - it does look good with the stickers on.
I think i'll get better eBay monies with the seatpost included in the sale.
Put an ato search on eBay, they go for around £30.

One very small point, the top tube decal is wrong, your TVT is NOT an HM version its an HR. The HM version which was 20% stiffer according to the original Frame information available at the time (Norris Lockley the original importer of the TVT frames I think) has TVT engraved on the head & seat lugs.

I did know that - technically this frameset would never have worn these decals.
Will probably get the lugs engraved before putting it on eBay ;-)

Fappity fap!

These are the engraved lugs on The HM TVT thats what makes it very very easy to tell the difference between the HM & the HR.

hang on - did you make a CP thread for a frame you were going to sell? Weird.
-
• #41
I originally didn't.
But when I checked the price of all the C-Record parts to make a 'proper' replica, I realised that it'll just be too much money involved.
Then I saw a similar frameset going for close to £600 on eBay so it just ended up like that. Other projects need fuelling!
Do you think I should just close the thread?

No, I was just confused. Bit of a shame, but totally understand. The vintage bike restoration thing is such a money pit.

I have also gathered quite a lot of information on TVT92's in the OP so that's pretty handy for everyone.
This frame is really great on the road, a true classic.

Dredge time, I will rebuild this frameset shortly since I didn't manage to sell it on eBay for a respectable price & I have sold my Lynskey Titanium frameset

Really funky frame!

Rear derailleur has now been re-glued.
The bike is getting build this weekend.
I am simply transferring my Ultegra 6700 kit onto it so haters' gonna hate.

I recovered an old Rolls Ergo at the weekend.
Looks better on the pictures, but still a decent job for a first time at recovering...

I am yet to do one build that is liked by most!
i wanted to build the carbon one up initially, waited for ages then pulled the trigger to find it was in awful condition so sent it back and then this frame came up so i jumped at it.
Yours looks very clean though-some great pics of pensec and millar going up Huez on these in 1990 TdF.
