I wonder which route Kristoff is taking. From looking at the map it would seem that south into the flat part of northern Italy and towards Trieste would make sense, but he's gone north.
then again, I know nothing about the roads in that part of the world...

Awesome. Thanks guys! It's been fun corrupting.... er, expanding the minds of two teenagers as they become proper bike shop nerds. Getting to use things like this to explain the differences in both bikes and cyclists has been totally great.

Hippy routed himself onto the motorway?!
Trying to sneak through the tunnel, had to re-route when he saw the "no wide loads" sign.

Hippy routed himself onto the motorway?!
A friend of mine once rode to Bologna to visit his then-girlfriend, who was Italian. He slept in ditches, rode over mountain passes, and then did most of the way through Italy on motorways, which he claimed was fine and quite easy. Well, that's what he told me, anyway.

Sadly, to the best of my knowledge there are no isolated linguistic communities left in Switzerland and they will all have mastered at least one Swiss lingua franca.
That said, I wonder if he'll go anywhere near Alto Adige to discover that lots of them speak German there. :)

Has this been resolved yet?

though fuck knows what firs thippy means
'Firs' is something about trees and 'Thippy' a surprisingly common first name, judging by a cursory Internet search.
