Climbing Ventoux after about 1000km's of racing, that's smashing.

They have to climb it from the south side starting at Bedouin - the most difficult, naturally...

Ventoux! look like he'll be the first to climb it!

Skinny started the climb,
Bernd is an hour away from the start of the climb,
that must feel good.

The first 24hr is the 'easy' bit though. He's got a long way to go yet.

Checkpoint description reads:

Control 1
The control will be at the summit. To here is approximately 900km and the first rider may be expected on the evening of 26th. The control will close on the evening of 28th July.

lol... smashing it. Hope he is keeping something in the tank.

He did 900 miles in 3 days as a trial run, he have a massive tank.

It's down to eds maintenance and his stealth installation of a scoblestack and mudflaps.

Has he ridden non-stop so far? Now closing in on ventoux summit.

The tracker seems to indicate few 20minute breaks but nothing substantial.
