Suggestion: draw the captains names from a hat, for who gets to pick, for each round of picking? Maybe fairer than having one captain getting to pick first, five times.

Yup, if I remember right the order is Will, Quentin, Jono, Polo, Alejandro, Rupert, Woods and Chan.

Serpentine order, so Chan gets 9th pick, Woods 10th, etc...
