  • No Betancur!!

  • Betancur is destined to come second, but will celebrate like he's won it.

  • If the margins are narrow people wax nostalgic about the golden days when some riders were head and shoulders above the others; if someone is head and shoulders above the others people say that the excitement is gone because the margins are too wide. I personally look forward to seeing what Nibali will pull off now that he can ride virtually stress free (if all the mountains aren't cancelled, that is).

  • Todays stage

  • brilliant. the steeper the better.

  • Weather on the new route is sounding brutal too

  • On the first climb of today's stage about 1 hour ago.

  • Fucking hard mans race, this has become.

  • wow

  • Has it, Yoda?

  • Today's stage cancelled.

  • Shame.
Shame they couldn't use the Stelvio either. Would have been an epic battle for 2nd/3nd and the White. And cuddles fighting for red jersey points.

  • Rumour that Di Luca has tested positive for EPO.

  • I bet Luca Scinto is delighted.

  • Uk Cycling Expert cracks me up!!

It's not all doom and gloom among the Giro of Italy cyclists - reports that Daniel Day Lucas is 'positive,' despite snow! #inspiring

    ..

  • Sagan tweets tomorrows location too...

  • The lake where the hotel is, is at 1750 metres or so, the finish another 600 metres higher, so unless there's a major thaw later today I doubt they'll be able to use the planned finish tomorrow either.

I really feel for the Giro organisers, they put together an interesting route only for the weather to decimate it.

  • Can Cav hold on to the jersey?

  • What am I supposed to do in work today then?!?!

  • His chances of doing so have improved enormously today. Evans will have to win tomorrow, which at the moment isn't looking likely, and then Cav would have to finish 3rd or worse on Sunday.

  • I bet Luca Scinto is delighted.

"It's true," Scinto said in a quiet, sad voice. "He's mad, he's a cretino, he needs treatment. There's nothing else to say. We gave him a second chance and the sponsors put their faith in him and this is how he pays us back. It's crazy that a rider thinks they can get away with it like that."

  • @Andy: Haven't the organizers brought the race forward slightly?

  • Thanks for your ASSesment

  • @Andy: Haven't the organizers brought the race forward slightly?

I don't know how much that was their doing or the work of the UCI, who agree the entire racing calendar. You'd normally expect the Giro to end around the beginning of June though, so it's at least a week earlier than normal.
