  • Have you seen today's profile, Luci? There's a couple of minor bumps early on and then the Montello ridge, which is a couple of hundred metres above sea level. There are no descents of any length today, so I'd be surprised if anyone gets dropped.

    Gruppo compatto.

  • True, but if Wiggins rides gingerly it's a stage like this one that has torn the peloton apart in the past.
Aggressive descending coupled with echolons in the valley bottoms sometimes transforms a tame stage into a game changer. What if Blanco decide to apply pressure for Gessink, splitting the field and driving a group of fifty or so towards that final bump before tear-arsing it to the finish?
Yesterday was relatively tranquillo - I reckon certain riders will have heard about sniffly Wiggins and decide to attack.

Look for Cummings hammering it for Cuddles.

  • Oct 2012?

But he only got over it just before the Giro started

I'd love to see Cummings attack a break and win a stage solo again.

It'll be a snoozefest, enlivened by a comedy sprint at the end where a third of the peleton crash on the rain slicked streets of Treviso.

    Something akin to this;

  • I don't know who to believe right now.

  • Oh.. That was LOL's

  • I don't think I'll even brother to watch todays stage.
No disrespect to sprinters and their talents.
    But it's fucking boring.

It's clearly a rest day en-bike and the peloton will hang a break out there and cruise along before OFQS close shit down.

46s on the right bossed it. Very casual.

  • But he only got over it just before the Giro started

He's had some reasonable places in the pre-Giro training rides this year so if he was still sick this year he did a good job of ignoring it.

  • Some are calling today Cav's 100th?
Anyone know what the real Cav count is?

  • a lovely town treviso.. stayed there in 2001, when most of the centre was having nice cobbles added to the streets..

  • the route today swings into prosecco country..

100th win after turning pro but not his 100th pro win as the Olympic test event doesn't count or something?

  • Yeah, I meant 100th pro win. Clearly not all time.

But some still call it 98/99. There's always been a cloud over the 'real' number.

  • Why haven't they listed his Head and Shoulders advert?

That was a fantastic professional accomplishment and his hair looked wonderful too.

Something this important deserves to be held seperately to his cycling achievments.

    Cycling's just silly.

  • "Wiggins, after stage 11 to Vajont in northeast Italy, was trapped at the finish line while waiting to descent to the team bus. He sat in a chair briefly before returning to his bike to ride down."

Asked if the Giro d'Italia is proving harder than the Tour de France, he said, "The Tour of Picardie is a hard race when you feel sick."

He's invited people to attack him now though

  • It's hammering it down out there

I think they've already been doing that.

  • His best tactic now would be to go and sneeze on Nibali and Evans.

  • Wiggins has attacked!!
