• And i didnt get my 2 points from the Australian Pursuit :(

  • Also do we need to pay next time or we get a free ride, because this week was rained off?

There was some racing so I think the answer will be no, if experience from previous years is anything to go by. I stand to be corrected though.

  • Last week in Australian Pursuit I overtook 2 riders and stayed til the end, so that is 2+2+2=6 points. On the results spreadsheet I'm 2nd with 2 points. Not sure how it works.

Also do we need to pay next time or we get a free ride, because this week was rained off?

Points scored in the race aggregate to give you your position in the race. Your position then gives you your track league points.

Race points ≠ track league points

  • The australian pursuit is setup different. It was organised as race points = track league points

  • People ranked outside of the top ten overall quibbling about league points?

    Just enjoy the racing.

  • This^

I'm ranked inside the top ten and I've been stiffed out at least 50 points this season where I haven't been included in a couple of results and I couldn't give a monkey's. It's track league, it really doesn't matter. Mistakes sometimes get made. That's what happens when human beings do stuff. C'est la vie.

What do points make? Eff all actually. Though if we were fighting for some amazing big money prize pool where every point counts I'd probably be a little less ambivalent about it tbh.

  • Keirin racing next Wednesday. What's the structure going to be? As, Bs and Cs in separate rounds or everyone all together? Will be good to get some practice in before the big day on Sunday!

  • Are the riders who took a tumble in the C scratch ok? I wasn't feeling it tonight, so skipped the last race.

  • Yes, just scratches. Apparently someone's crank came off and that what caused the crash.

  • That was a bit sketchy but I think everyone was ok.

  • HH sounds a bit sketchy. At the track in Auckland we start off the season with begineers, school kids, masters and A graders all riding togeather and dont seem to have the same issues. Some of the kids (the faster ones) are a little sketchy to begin with but a polite word from an old head useualy sets them right. Its a hard track for begineers as well (46dergrees outdoor concrete).

The coaching is excelent though (and only $25 for the season).

I literaly cant wait for the season to begin.

  • Good racing tonight! The Cat A keirin final was v impressive. A+ to Tricky Business! Hope the people that crashed are back on the track soon!!!

  • It's definitely faster under floodlights!

Unlucky in the 10k Joseph, your beast attack was just half a lap too far out. I seriously thought we were sprinting for second place. 1800m is a long way on your own with a bunch bearing down on you.

  • Well done both! Didn't see the final scratch race, I left after the crush, but that keirin final sprint was very impressive. Everyone stood up and started clapping.

  • Was worth paying the entry fee just to see the kierin final - nice work!

  • Yeah it was alright I suppose.

  • Yeah it was alright I suppose.

  • Oh yeah, forgot to ask last night. Where are the results? When will they be up? I want the results!!*

    *JK

  • Derny races are down as tonight's special event - what format do these take?

  • Riders ride around the track behind a derny for a set number of laps. First across the line on the final lap wins.

  • So Kierin basically?

  • No, each person has an individual derny

  • pursuit style?

  • That looks awesome and terrifying in equal measure
