I'm probably going to do this, and - for a whole number of reasons - probably won't be that fast.

I think I'm going to commit to this, I'm riding a granny gear atm as the knee still isn't all that so I'll probably be pottering round enjoying the views.

Trepidatiously tempted.

Have signed up for this. Will be my first audax so just hoping to make it round =)

^Yay! You'll be fine - I am seeing this in terms of the cake stops rather than the riding.

Sup folks. Think I'm going to give this a go. Does anyone know how close to the event one can purchase a ticket?
-
• #34
It's a tenner.

Two weeks to go, the sun is shining and it's almost time to order Brevet cards!

Im going to do this, if anyone wants to ride down from North on the day...
-
• #37
Anyone fancy doing a 70 miler or so this weekend, last minute preparation and all?
-
• #38
I'm likely in for that one.

Was thinking of doing the olympic route, which I have yet to experience. Only one lap of box hill though, think that will bring it to around 80 miles from central london.

I will most likely be doing it too, Joe.

Will you be geared or fixed?
-
• #42
Gears, are you doing the devil fixed?
-
• #43
Yes I am :)
-
• #44
Fair play. I stop enjoying rides fixed north of 60 miles or so.
But by all means, I would enjoy having a dance partner for the Olympic route if you fancy joining

I'd love to, but just realised I have the ride west on Saturday, would you be likely to go for sat or sunday?
-
• #46
Indra, you're doing the devil?

I could be up for this - But isn't a fair wedge of the route fairly built up?
I could be up for a berkshire loop up through Windsor or Surrey loop down to Box hill - on Sunday.

Yeah I was thinking sunday too.
To be honest I'm not fussed on route. As long as its in the 70-80 mile region and has hills. I haven't looked at the olympic route in much detail but if you have alternative that isn't as built up then I'll go with that. I would prefer surrey/box hill though to Berkshire.
If people are keen, then Ill kick off a list...
Ditching Devil warm up ride,
Route: Somewhere, probably Box hill, maybe.
Date: Sunday, 02/06/2013- Hovis

Yes...
Well I signed up but didn't say anything on the thread as I knew I'd probably either pussy out or be too busy revising.Yeah I was thinking sunday too.

I'm completely easy as long as I get to put some miles in, can serve as a warm up for the roadie slide too.

There's a small hill after arriving in Brighton that's harder than Ditchling Beacon, so stick with your 48/19 if you can.
I've done the distance, just not with any urgency.
