Didn't work for me sadly.
I went to Bill Drummond and Tam Dean Burn's Hear Hard thing a couple of weeks ago. Me and Mrs EB sat right at the front and Tam said we might want to move as it would be loud.
Anyway we started talking about Tinnitus and hearing loss and he said hearing aids had really helped his T.
I told him my experience with NHS hearing aids and I didn't wear them because I just couldn't get on with everything sounding so tinny and weird. He showed me the ones he has, apparently they have different settings for different scenarios - restaurants, cinema etc.
Couple of grand or more though 😬

@sorethroat @dsalmon will try that description - it's a good one.

I've been wearing my NHS aids for the week or so. Tinnitus definitely feels like it's reduced in volume so that's encouraging

Has anyone experienced post-chemotherapy tinnitus? How was it for you?

Tinnitus been getting noticeably bad the past month. Some days it’s high pitched ringing, others feels more like pressure in one ear. Starting to notice hearing loss too especially in pubs/busy environments. Got a hearing assessment and ear wax removal in soon so hoping that may help but will likely go to speak to gp after the assessment.
Any tips for describing what it's like to someone who doesn't suffer with tinnitus?
Middle of the night... "can you hear that?"
"No. All I can hear is the sea (despite being in North London)".
"It's like a low pitch humming sound".
