Just checking in at hostel.. When I get home I will post Garmin stats.
Possibly the hardest race I have ever done, but worth it, totally.
My legs are ruined, my arsed has fallen apart, looks like I've got trench foot
So many gorgeous marshals especially around Lillehammer, racing teams whizzing past,Crowds up and down the country..
Downsides fast busy traffic on the E6
Not much variety with food at feedstops -

I was asked to do it a few years ago. Someones MAMIL boss had put a team together from his fitter employees, and wanted some more road riding experianced guys to help keep things together. Not sure why it never happened. I think I side stepped it. That was starting from Dombås.
Not sure why appeals now. Mid life crisis perhaps? Wish I could afford to get a sports car/boat/etc. Sounds like a far more sensible way of dealing with it...

i would do it (styrkeproven) again.. first road sign you see when you hit the E9 outside Trondheim reads Oslo 524km..... more deranged laughing, two days on i still can't walk straight, steps and ramps hurt, no appettite still and around £1500 lighter..
£10 beers ftw..................

I have it on good authority that TW2 is in fecking love with Iceland. Lets do that instead. Perhaps we could blast out Bjork hits to keep us going.

I am seriously up for this.
Although last time I drive to Trondheim I ended up in Kristiansund ('close enough' meme).
After riding and running up dalsnibbe and building up beastly appetites. TW2, Dammit, and me went to a Tapas bar for dinner. My Nowegian friends were as shocked about that, as they were the ride/run.

there were around 30 teams competing this year all from northern europe.. no idea how many from the UK, if anyone is really serious and keen to get sub 24 hours with a 6am start.. then we should do it for 2014 :)
we will have to ride a tight squad though, this is a serious undertaking.
btw Kristian is the trail blazer for this, not me.. f#cking wish i didn't know him.. as i still hurt...... alot ;) -

Words like compete, and sub 24 hours, are somewhat scary.
The first thing I said to my mates boss that asked me to do it. Was teach them to ride in a tight group. tioght like a tiger.

none of that loosey goosey stuff in norway.. riding in a pack means to share the effort up front. We did the ride this year totally independent (3 of us), just relying on feedstops which were not busy. i got the one and only puncture at the finish line then was violently sick for my trouble...
best not laugh too much my insides still ache :(

I'm there a lot. To be honest Oslo is fecking ugly in general. Theres the nice bit by the sea, and then its pure ugs.

Wilko knocked out 486km in 12:00 hours, solo - So 540 in almost 14:00, in a group? Piece of piss.

40kph for 545km.
No thanks.
+1.
Well said Bothwell.
Al and Rob, good luck and keep us informed of progress and hopefully a successful conclusion.
Oh, and are the Norwegian ladies as fond of "faye-ting" as their south Wales counterparts?
