I was hit up the arse whilst driving a bus a few months back at the angle corner junction, the guy stopped I took pictures of the damage and of the driver, I also had real time CCTV of him hitting me..
He didnt want to give me his insurance details so then proceeded to speed off calling me a c@nt..
I reported to the police as a hit and run whilst also submitting all footage and pictures, long story short I got a letter about 4 days after saying no action will be taken due to not having enough proof!!!!

I saw the picture of the driver and thought to myself "I've seen him before". Is this him? Wearing the same shirt?
Well spotted. Looks very similar !

Sounds like horseshit. Complain.
Did you get any witnesses?
It's illegal to leave the scene of an accident, no?
V888 form find where he lives and rob him blind one day?

As I was driving a big red bus I had about 40 witnesses lol...
It is indeed illegal to leave the scene of a accident however the MET Police seem to think it isn't worth the effort pursuing such things :-(
If i'm honest it kinda goes out of my hands once I do the accident report and submit it to my Garage, I went straight to the police station at Edmonton as soon as it happened but honestly they couldn't really have cared less.. But then I was working in one of the less nicer places of North London and as such higher priority cases where most prob taking up man power??..
When I submitted the Reg number of the blokes car it came back as insured so I have no idea why he did a runner???..
As for the V888 form, not really my style I kinda just let karma do its thing, I am of course saying that as I was not out of pocket due to the incident..
From experience when you have a incident make sure you say your injured so that the police have to respond and attend the scene, if they do not get a driver who is to blame for a incident red handed then chances of a fair outcome for yourself as quite slim at best...

That's a good attitude, let him know that's it's perfectly ok to hit someone from behind and do a runner as it turn out he won't get caught for it.
Karma won't work if you (or the bus company you worked for) don't prosecuted accordingly.
For a moment I thought you were hit from behind on a bicycle.

If the police refuse to pursue then your quite limited to what you can do yourself, if however the police prosecute then it makes everything at your end 100% easier re insurance or a claim to the motor insurance bureau..
I was highlighting that even with pictures and sometimes CCTV no action will be taking by the police..
Catching someone read handed is the only stone clad way for a prefered outcome..

If they refused to pursue, you can just claim it on the offender's insurance, job done.
Nothing hurt them more than losing their no claim bonus.

Might have been someone else driving it who wasn't insured. That would be worthy of doing a runner.

Was the guy a Geordie then? 'Kin ell, there are some right bad seeds out there aren't there?

The other popular reason for doing a runner is to avoid a breath test. -

You get in a lots less trouble to flee the scene of crime than being caught intoxicated.
Big loophole.

Gave statement at the police station today. I showed this thread to the PC.
However I didn't witness the punching, and there is no photos that shows the face of the driver clearly.
Can someone help? -

When a psychopath came after me, and tried to kill me, twice, by driving her car at me, at 100mph, I was very surprised when she got a 'warning' for attempted murder. Despite having boasted about her plans to kill me all over the internet, and boasted afterwards that next time she would get me.
Then it turned out her partner was a senior police officer.
Hmmmmmmmm !
Coincidence, I am sure !
