Did you find out what the Murella team colours were?
Yellow or red and chrome always win and are (to me) very Italian.
Do you know what the tubeset is? It's a consideration if you're thinking about chrome.

As far as i could find out the bike as it is in white was the original colour and paintwork. I still cannot be 100% sure it was Murella. If i was 100% sure, it would remain as original but with the doubt, I can do as i wish with the paint. Rossin could not confirm either way.
The tubes are Tange Prestige. I have a pic of some forks but i cannot locate it at the moment.

Team Murella rode white bikes? Never heard of them, but I'd have thought it would have been something a bit more lairy.
Rossin might not have confirmed it was a Murella bike, but they did say it might have been: like you say, you've got a free reign with this...
I don't like the chrome on the bike above: it either needs to be shorter (just the tips, but perhaps the whole DS chainstay) or longer (to meet the rims at least); as it is, it breaks up the lines.
Might not look so bad with shallow rims, but it still smacks of Seventies tourer, rather than Eighties thoroughbred.

Colourtech
I've had 2 frames done there. Nothing complicated, but saw some beautiful examples while there. He did Witcomb's painting, and I think he does Ron Cooper's and Roberts'.

So they did ride white bikes! Very restrained by the standards of the time.
The headtube on the last bike hints at something a little more interesting though.

A test - can you identify the brake levers in the pic above? This might aid with dating the bike.

Look like Super Record, which is what you'd expect for a pro bike of that era.
Have you seen this bike: something a little different paintwise which is period correct, but looks quite modern too; Shimano team too.
Add chrome dropouts and maybe the DS chainstay and you have a peach! DO NOT fit coloured tyres ffs.

No modern tyres????????????? Booo HOoo!! LOL
Amber walls all the way!!

I have seen that Rossin and I do like it. Re the Super Record - is there definite years it would have been used? Mainly, when would be the last year of use?

Indeed. Very pleased with the Colour Tech job on my Ron. I don't think he's too keen on chroming... but don't take my word for it.

Evening all,
After some discussion with a friend who initially suggest chromed forks and rear triangle, the conversation went on to a full chrome frame - with paint. Paint on fork crown, stem and BB shell.
Any opinions on that one??????? I must say that it appeals to me - a lot!

Thanks - that is the link that my friend posted to me. I have not priced it yet but I suspect it might actually be cheaper than three paint scheme with some chrome. Chrome forks and read triangle costs about £378 so I am guessing that the other three tubes would not be much more. I had priced 3 paint and a little chrome and it came to around £600 - and probably more.
I still like shiny stuff!!!

The pic is rubbish, don't know what or how the old boy has done but I haven't got the heart to say they are bad quality... Just putting it up to show the amount of chrome on it.... Green would not be the first colour I would go for but it seems to work very well with the chrome and white.... Have struck a deal so when she is in my hands I will post better pics

Here are some pics....cant get things to work correctly, but the link is working......the same man has owned it for the last 25/30 years....I am trying to get more info from him but I know he bought it at a bike jumble, the rest he can't quite recall.....anyway he bought like this and rode it, so I assume the tubing decals are genuine.....and they look it to me, as in they are not painted round and seem part n parcel to the bike....although I am no expert, but can say the bike has never been painted at....unless some years ago somebody done a proper job.....
