If it's nice sit in the park, if not find a pub? I'll probably stay the night in Bristol and get the train back the next day.

What's everyone's fitness looking like?

bristol has loads of really decent pubs and a good range of places to eat, im trying to figure out a way to get my stuff home to salisbury before the ride still

awful

Perfect, I will be there then but mine isn't too good so I don't mind getting dropped :)
The route has been posted so if I get dropped I can decide to turn back or carry on slower.

Mines pretty good.
Which in reality means is probably worse than all of you playing it downers
-
• #88
I would massively be up for this..instead I shall be in Butlins on a stag do entitled "90's Reloaded" yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeas

Sure you'll be fine Indra, just wear a brake so you don't have to waste energy slowing and stopping!
-
• #90
Oh yeah I've got a brake on the seta now slightly bigger gear too.

what gear you running?
-
• #92
51x18 or 76GI probably but not finalised yet.
-
• #93
I'd aim for around 68-70, it's quite flat most of the way there so you might find yourself spinning out bare.
-
• #94
49x18 I guess then, forgot I had a 49t chainring.
-
• #95
If its flat then surely he will want the bigger gi so he doesn't spin out? I would have thought around 73-78gi would be perfect for riding with a geared group on flat terrain.
-
• #96
That's what I thought at first but I'm always open to suggestions, I can spin pretty well.
-
• #97
Bigger GI, yes, but not so large that knees start hurting. I'd avoid 73-78 as it does get fairly hilly towards Bristol IIRC.
-
• #98
I've been pushing 73 around Epping forest and Chingford for the past week, could go larger as need but I reckon I'll give 49x18 a go this weekend to see how it feel.

hilly as fuck in bath and bristol but i think the route avoids the worst of the hills, the railway bike path is dead flat all the way from bath to bris though so i think HTFU and run the higher ratio is right

I did this on 66 GI, seemed fine. Bendix did it on 80+ GI, she also found it fine.
Still on radar...
