wind changed while you were working for most of the day.

• #203
I dunno, 17mph headwind all the way, stick Laner on the front and learn to ride in a tight group.
I know I'm not as good a wind block as braker, but I'll be on the front most of the time, so don't worry people!
forum rules apply? no-one gets dropped? it's gonna be crappy for both groups if we split - no fun chasing unless you have a strong rider, and no fun waiting if it's cold and windy.

18mph headwind forecast btw!

There will be no people dropping at all. And I don't expect this ride to be very fast.

My bikes at micycle finally getting the seatpost collar removed, and a new one fitted so I can finally fit a seatpost thats long enough
If so I think ill do it anyway and if I start to die I'll just jump on a train back somewhere along the way.
What are people taking in terms of food?

Looking like a good, tight knit group. Wish I could join but I fear my all day ride last weekend has precluded me to 'quality time' with the other half this one. You'll find me at the Ikea...

Went a page back and that was all that was left, figured I should stop before getting into minus numbers...

Okay, group small enough and there is enough grumbling to ask: do people want to get the train to bristol and ride back to London? I'm happy either way but thought I'd give people the choice before more dropouts :)

That is worse than not going at all. May as well do regents laps.

You can get groups save 3s as well as 4s. I've also got a young persons railcard if we're short of people

Sorry, I'm out too now, Ludwig has tempted me away with pretty much the same distance but 9 or 10k of climbing and longer in bed.

LAST MINUTE CHANGE:
Preference for people riding has been tailwind, so we'll be riding Bristol > Woking
We will still meet at 8, but now at PADDINGTON station for a train at 8.45 to BRISTOL PARKWAY
The train only takes 1h20 so will be there by 10am. Cost will be 60 quid for a groupsave 4 = 15 quid each (i will buy one set of 4)From there we will do the route in reverse and get blown all the way back home.
We'll be passing through Woking again for people wanting to get a train to London, i however will be serving penance for changing direction by riding all the way back to london (extra 30 miles if anyone wants join me)Sorry for the last minute change, hope anyone planning to can still make it!

There is a distinct lack of HTFU in this thread....
it was windy today, how did I have a headwind both too and from work? serious question.
