Laner you've barely ridden the Look yet!
You should take the look on this, it's a bit more roadie douche bag...
I remember when you had no money, now you're all "Oh, I've done 400 miles on this bike now I'll just leave it here".
You've changed dude ;)

UPDATED ROUTE:
http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2362788
Unless anyone travelling from bristol speaks up about coming and says it's easier for them to get to farnborough, we will be getting the train from waterloo to Woking as it's quicker and cheaper
I've also change the route to get ride of the canal path as i don't like that bit, instead it's replaced by a hill :)

im worrying about this now
-
• #130
why worrying?

You now appear to be going up Brassnocker hill at 96m - you may wish to reconsider that... it will be a struggle for anyone on more than ~65gi

lucky it's a geared ride then!
Joking aside, do you definitely suggest going round it? i thought it'd be fun, and since after that we'll be on the super flat railway path it would be okay

• #136
My longest ride is 85, 100 seemed ok, 115 is seemingly less appealing
-
• #137
Its 22% for a short period around one of the corners and is 0.6 Miles long with >10% av gradient - I reckon that after 96miles quite a few people will struggle to get up it even on gears: http://app.strava.com/segments/623391
It's also often used as a rat-run, so can get pretty busy traffic wise.

• #138
Sounds mega.
-
• #139
The ones that cant get up it can just walk up? Tis the way these rides always go
-
• #140
Last one up gets the beers in...
(Checks bank balance)

• #141
it's shorter than ditchling, but a bit steeper. I'll leave it in. we'll regroup at the top

Lou Austin managed to get up it at 31mph average. Must be piss easy...

Does .6 miles even qualify as a hill?
-
• #144
^Only a cat 4 for that reason. The dudes on strava are all doing it between 4 and 5 minutes.
-
• #145
Don't worry Rogan, I'm sure you can do it.
-
• #146
Yeah leave it in for sure. Hills ftw.

I reckon keep it in and see how you feel when you reach the bottom.
Its pretty easy to avoid it and you could split to those who want to climb it and those that dont, i think you can ride along the a36 (my parents live on this road) without too much hassle and meet where the route joins the a36 at the bottom of bathwick hill
-
• #148
Cheers Tom, i'll do exactly that.

It can be quite busy and the road doesn't lend itself at all to walking a bike up it.
