What front lights are people going to be using for the Dynamo?
Is anything good enough to do the job that and costs less than a Hope Vision One (£60)?
-
• #207
last year I ran a moon mask 5 - http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Moon-Mask-5-0-5-LED-Front-Light_49641.htm and a cateye el-135 http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Cateye-EL-135-3-LED-Front-Light_7530.htm
I took spare batteries for the cateye, but didn't need them.
I also ran a blackburn mars 4.0 and a fibreflare as rears.
This year I'll be adding a set of the Ledus Wheelus sidelights too - http://leduswheelus.com/

And two less bright front lights worked better than one big bright one you reckon? I was thinking in terms of lighting up the road rather than just for being seen.
-
• #209
I didn't find I had any problems seeing the road. The moon masks are pretty bright anyhow, and there's loads of people with lights on anyhow.

I enjoy this ride most when I turn my main front lights off and let night vision take over.
NB: Obviously I turn it back on when I see oncoming traffic.
-
• #213
I don't bother with lights, the first half I feel my way along, I do the second half by sense of smell.
-
• #214
Yeah, lots of synthetic fabrics on show creating a trail of scent to follow.

I spent £8 eBay for a pair of Cree torches with handlebar mounts. Worked great.

Has anyone done the ride back to london afterwards? Quite fancy it
-
• #219
Step forward Tricity Bendix.
-
• #220
a few people have. Tricity is one who loves doing the back route.
-
• #221
...and writing entertainingly about it afterwards.
I'm tempted to ride home this year. But it won't be anything to write home about.
-
• #222
But it will be something to ride home about, eh?!
You set 'em up, I know 'em down.

When it says 'fits all bars', would it fit bars with flat wing style tops?
-
• #224
They come with generous shims (the two pictured per mount), they're made from quite flexible and firm (not brittle) plastic, and they can be orientated either way 'forward'.
Calipers say maximum diameter sans shims is 36mm.So I would say a definite maybe.

Thanks mate!
Just been told I might need to get a tendon chopped, which would leave me in a boot for the summer. Might preclude this and everything else I have mentally signed up for....
Anyway, in the meantime, subscribed.
