That was my plan. Have figured out a non-main road route, Dunwich to Ipswich. Not sure if its any good. Hadn't got as far deciding on what train to get, so .......
Mostly good except for the mile or so of semi-epic cx singletrack.
Opted for the 3.5m detour.

Train platform is lol. How is this lot ever going to fit on a train change to london?

On train sitting behind JB.
Including trip to start garmin says average of 18.5, not displeased.
It was a cold one. But a great ride. Can't wait for bed tho.
Distinct possibility I'm going to spend the ride home puking. -

We're still on the beach. I really want to get out of my sleeping bag and make some coffee but I Cannot Be Bothered.
Also there are approximately 8000 forum caps here, though I have no idea who any of them are.

Wow, we knew this one was going to be big, but not that big. Various people said as many as 2,500 at London Fields. The general consensus was more than 2,000.
We'd made a lot more food, but we still ran out. Then the village hall electrics blew again several times, leaving us hot water-less. It had just been re-wired and we had high hopes. Apologies to all those who had to wait for a tea or coffee. Luckily, it didn't affect the food.
Loads of forumengers spotted in Sible Hedingham. I usually and rather embarrassingly forget loads, but a quick selection includes shinkuu kiss (first forumenger in and looking as if he was on a fast one), Yankee Shit Bag, Soul, fussballclub, metrocammell, moog, CTRL, fasih, ChainBreaker, dicki, ian (conker), vunugu, slamm, noiser, and bobcolover. It's always wonderful to spot a familiar face in the queue (although noiser wasn't a familiar face but was wearing a forum cap).
Huge thanks to Skully and skydancer for being brilliant all day and Mrs Earthlooop for helping out for hours on her way through while looking after Earthloop.
The Sible Hedingham Village Hall people also deserve huge praise. The way they run the hall is absolutely wonderful. You wouldn't believe how helpful and dedicated they are. It's such a great resource--there's nothing remotely like it anywhere around. Make sure you book it for an event sometime and help them earn some money to pay the bills.
The definite low point was that a bike went missing from the front of the hall. Two suspects were seen around, but it was unclear whether they were the culprits. We've passed info on to the locals and to the police.
I couldn't carry on to Dunwich this time, for the first time ever since I've done the ride, but there's a first time for everything.
Long live the Dunwich Dynamo.

We're still on the beach. I really want to shamble out of my sleeping bag and make some coffee but I Cannot Be Bothered.
You could imagine that you used to be a little caterpillar and you now have to emerge from your chrysalis and become a little butterfly.
Hope this helps.

everyone on this train looks completely fucked. I just fell asleep on the floor and was woken up by the doors banging open to see another bunch of guys also asleep on the floor surrounding me.
Only another two hours till london!

.That's very impressive considering it was tricky to get above 10mph for the first 15 miles due to sheer weight of lovely twinkly cyclists.
Still, I bet you're not home already and I am, so I win. Night night.

Home showered and had the weirdest breakfast...
Cereal followed by tuna.We had a fair bit of help, first by the chasseurs des cols wearing pair, but they dropped back, then me, my mate Liam, branwen and a guy called George rode for a while in a pretty efficient chaingang
Then London Phoenix helped us keep a ridiculous end 50 mile average.
I love group riding, especially being at the front -

Fkn hilarious how many riders with team kit and or mavic wheels with carbon spokes had clearly spent time on the floor. Bark off everywhere!!
Imagine if these guys did tnrc or audax - they'd kill themselves.

Anyone spot my wheel light (like the Netherlands guy ones) when moving fast enough it read 'i love you'. I didn't know that until about 70 miles

Train a complete clusterfuck due being oversold unfortunately. After missing the first ipswich-london sailing, saw the next load from Darsham spill onto the platform (plus direct riders) in time for next departure. Saw the writing on the wall and sprinted over to catch a train to kings x via Ely instead. £36 :-(. Saw the same mass of bikes still on platform 2. Will have to think outside the box for 2014..
Oh I saw a bat at last, on Coddenham. Excite.

To all those that make this happen (Oliver? Miss Mouse? The helpers at the food stops and many others I'm sure) - thank you, for, as ever, the best ride of the year. Terrific ride.
