The sick thing is I don't have any patience, if I'd have just left the seatpost alone and not trying to bash the crap out of it or attack it with chemicals in the right hands it would have been easier/less costly all round.

£45 collected (Letchworth Garden City) £10 extra for courier or I can drive down to high Barnet tube to hand over in person for the same cost of postage

The frame's paint job is nice but the cost of repairing that seat tube outweigh the niceness of the frame. If you know what I mean.

Yeh i've made similar mistakes making/repairing stuff over the years -
square peg - round hole and i will make it fit!......the ability to make decisions when stressed................

But come on, who could not admire someone who took on this broken egg and made a lovely ommellette (sorry forgot the spelling and then fancied doubling up all the consonants) out of it?

I used that caustic soda method but would not do it again. Takes a long time, caustic just gets everywhere, and your paint is wrecked. If I had another stuck post I would hacksaw it out.
